In the passionate artistic journey of Meritorious Artist Ngoc Trinh, the two plays "Dancing Heart" (2007) and "49 Days of Love" (2014) are two shining milestones, leaving a deep impression in the hearts of the audience and readers of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper.
"In those two works, she was both a talented actress and a talented director, twice awarded the prestigious Mai Vang award by readers of the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper. It's heartbreaking. Looking back at Ngoc Trinh's achievements, we can see that her labor is truly persistent" - Meritorious Artist Ca Le Hong said.
In 2007, the audience at IDECAF Drama Stage were moved to tears following every step of Xang - the blind girl who was transformed into the role of Meritorious Artist Ngoc Trinh and was voted by readers of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper to win the Mai Vang award that year.
The play by author Nguyen Thi Minh Ngoc, directed by the late director Vu Minh, tells the story of homeless children fighting for their lives under a bridge, with enough cunning and recklessness but still burning with the desire to be loved.

Ngoc Trinh's Xang makes people feel both pity and admiration. On stage, her eyes are closed, but her heart and voice open up a sky of longing for love. Together with the role of Bong played by the late artist Thanh Phuong, the two form the most vivid pair of characters, leading the audience from laughter to tears.
The moment Bong (the leader of the villain group) pretended to be the lost child and was exposed, which should have been blameworthy, made people feel heartbroken. Because the words the boy spoke were so earnest, so sincere - it was the instinctive call of an orphan longing for a home. And it was that vibration, combined with the sincere, emotional performance of the late Meritorious Artist Ngoc Trinh, that turned the play into a work that touched the deepest compassion of the audience.
The play "Dancing Heart" helped Ngoc Trinh affirm her position in the Ho Chi Minh City drama scene and brought her the Mai Vang award, proving the public's love for an artist who lives her life for her character.

Ngoc Trinh – If there were only "49 days of love"?
Speaking of the mettle of a female director, seven years later, in 2014, the late Meritorious Artist Ngoc Trinh returned to the Mai Vang award, but this time she received the award as a director.
The musical "49 Days of Love" (author Bui Quoc Bao) is her graduate work in directing at the University of Theatre and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City. People's Artist Tran Minh Ngoc once commented: "Ngoc Trinh has brought modern elements to musicals, when directly addressing the challenges that young people are facing: family oppression, generational differences, emotional issues and gender issues. The play "49 Days of Love" has a fast tempo, beautiful setting, and tight plot."
On the stage of the Ho Chi Minh City Drama Theater, Ngoc Trinh at that time organized a talented cast to join her creatively, including: Dai Nghia, Hoang Anh, Hong Trang, Khanh Ngoc, Lee Bao, Thai Tran, Mai The Hiep, Minh Phi, Tu Oanh... She breathed new, vibrant life into the play.

The story of Minh – a man who is both strict and suddenly changes, causing the whole family to fall into both funny and sad situations – becomes a subtle metaphor for the change of thinking in modern society. From the story of parents having to learn to understand their children, to the children having to bravely face themselves, all are told with music , light and emotional dramatic language.
It was this strong commitment that brought the late Meritorious Artist Ngoc Trinh the Mai Vang Award for Stage Director in 2014, a sweet achievement, affirming that she was not only a talented actress, but also a promising female director of the Vietnamese stage.
Ngoc Trinh and two milestones, one artist's heart
It can be said that the plays "Dancing Heart" and "49 Days of Love" are two different but complementary slices in the career of the late Meritorious Artist Ngoc Trinh. When her baggage includes a role of a lifetime and a work she directed, it affirms her efforts to study and grow.
Both show her kind soul, artistic intelligence and seriousness with the stage.
With these two milestones, she has left her students with many valuable lessons in teaching. It can be said that since she became a guest lecturer at the University of Theatre and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City and several other stages, she has brought much of her own experience to pass on to the younger generation of actors.
Director Quoc Thao commented: "Ngoc Trinh is very passionate about her profession. She has passed on to her students during her time teaching at Quoc Thao Theater the experiences she has accumulated from many years of dedication.
Over the past 20 years, when mentioning the Mai Vang Award, mentioning these two milestones, the audience and readers of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper still remember, proving that she has put her heart and soul into her roles and plays to create a very unique acting and staging trend.
