The Steering Committee for Anti-Smuggling, Trade Fraud and Counterfeit Goods of Quang Nam Province (Steering Committee 389 Quang Nam) has just issued a Plan for the peak period against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods before, during and after the 2024 Lunar New Year, aiming to contribute to stabilizing the market and creating a healthy business environment.
The plan's goal is to prevent the emergence of hot spots of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the province; to protect the legitimate rights of consumers and organizations and individuals doing honest business.
Based on the situation and market developments in Quang Nam province, the Provincial Steering Committee 389 urges and guides agencies and units that are members of the steering committee to proactively grasp information and control the situation of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods; regularly exchange and share information, coordinate inspection and control.
Thereby, promptly detecting, combating, arresting and handling acts of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods to prevent and repel smuggling activities and illegal transportation of goods across borders, border gates and sea areas.
Agencies and functional forces must strictly handle commercial fraud and tax evasion; acts of buying, selling, and transporting prohibited and smuggled goods; producing and trading in counterfeit, poor-quality goods, and goods that violate intellectual property rights, etc.
Member agencies of the Quang Nam Steering Committee 389 proactively grasp the situation; identify methods and tricks and determine the subjects, routes, areas, and key items that require concentrated forces, means, and measures to fight. Agencies and units at the grassroots level clearly define their responsibilities in managing, inspecting, and controlling the areas and fields under their responsibility.
Each level and relevant sector shall develop and deploy plans to increase forces and means of patrolling and strictly controlling border routes, road, rail, sea and air border gates, trails, openings, and goods gathering areas near the border to prevent prohibited goods, counterfeit goods, and poor quality goods from being smuggled into the domestic market of the province and neighboring areas for consumption.
Authorities strictly inspect wholesale markets, traditional markets, shopping malls, agents, grocery stores, control e-commerce trading floors, social networking sites (zalo, facebook, tiktok...) for online buying and selling... to promptly detect and strictly handle violations.
The whole province focuses on inspecting, controlling and strictly handling administrative violations of goods with high consumer demand during the end of the year and Lunar New Year such as: confectionery, sugar, fruit, wine, beer, cigarettes, new generation electronic cigarettes, soft drinks, electronics, refrigeration, clothing, footwear, firecrackers, fireworks of all kinds, animals and products processed from animals, fresh food, etc.
In particular, closely monitor the trading activities of gasoline, liquefied petroleum gas, and prevent speculation, hoarding, and unreasonable price increases, etc., to contribute to ensuring market stability to serve people's Tet needs.
