In addition to the two main routes of National Highway 28 and 28B to reach the provincial administrative center and Gia Nghia, from La Gi ward you can follow National Highway 55 or from Nghi Duc and Nam Thanh communes you can follow some other "circling" routes that are quite far to reach the provincial administrative center. In fact, many people in the Mui Ne - Phan Thiet area often go to the provincial administrative centers along National Highway 28B, National Highway 28 is rarely used because the road is narrow, has many steep passes and there is no bus route, so it is not convenient to travel. With National Highway 28B currently being repaired and upgraded, it still cannot meet the traffic demand when at the beginning of the week and on weekends, the number of tourists plus the number of employees and families traveling from Mui Ne - Phan Thiet to the provincial administrative center is very large, leading to traffic accidents. With a strategic vision, recognizing the difficulties in traffic between regions, in June 2025, when General Secretary To Lam came to work with the three provinces of Lam Dong - Binh Thuan - Dak Nong (old), the provinces proposed and recommended to the Central Government to consider and approve the additional planning of the expressway connecting Dak Nong - Lam Dong - Binh Thuan before 2030. Allocate funding sources to implement in accordance with regulations with the criteria of ensuring the connection of Phan Thiet city (Binh Thuan) - Da Lat city (Lam Dong) - Gia Nghia city (Dak Nong)... Because the road network planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1454/QD-TTg dated September 1, 2021, there is no expressway Dak Nong - Lam Dong - Binh Thuan (old) (specifically, currently from Gia Nghia ward connecting the provincial administrative center to ward Phan Thiet - Mui Ne) has not been included...

Previously, the People's Committee of Binh Thuan (old) also worked with the Southern Transport Design Consulting Joint Stock Company (consultant), the Dak Nong - Lam Dong - Binh Thuan expressway according to the plan will have the starting point from Km0+000 intersecting with the North - South expressway in the East, Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet section (CT.01 route about Km225+250), ending at the intersection with National Highway 14 (about Km1891+300), the route is expected to be about 140 km long...

The completed expressway will create an inter-regional connection from Gia Nghia to Phan Thiet - Mui Ne. The expressway will not only significantly reduce transportation time and costs, but also create a transport network directly connected to the North - South expressways, expanding development space for urban areas and rural areas. Having an expressway connecting "forest to sea" will create momentum for industry, tourism and services. In addition, it will supplement the planned national road network, directly connecting the South Central Coast and the Central Highlands along the horizontal axis with a significantly shortened travel route.

From another perspective, Lam Dong is currently the province with the largest area in the country compared to other provinces and cities, and traveling between communes and wards with the provincial administrative center is still difficult. Lam Dong also has national-level tourist areas of both forests and seas and is the province's key economic sector. Therefore, it is very necessary to have an expressway to facilitate tourists. For example, Binh Thuan (old) thanks in part to the operation of the two expressways Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay has shortened the travel time between Ho Chi Minh City and Phan Thiet from 4 hours to 2 - 2.5 hours, which has helped attract a sharp increase in the number of tourists from the southern provinces to Phan Thiet. If Lam Dong has an expressway connecting "forests with seas", it will create an effect not only for the tourism industry but also for other key industries such as industry, high-tech agriculture, etc.
