Accordingly, the total length of the route is 5.2km. The starting point is at the intersection with Ky Vu Street in Thuong Cat Ward (Bac Tu Liem District). The end point is at the intersection with Road 23B in Dai Mach Commune, Dong Anh District. In the photo: Ky Vu Street intersection.

Thuong Cat Bridge is a special-grade project, the roads at both ends of the bridge are urban main roads. The typical cross-section of Thuong Cat Bridge is 31-53m, including 6 lanes for motor vehicles, 2 lanes for non-motor vehicles and a separation lane.

The road south of the bridge is 60m wide, including a 6-lane motor vehicle approach bridge in the middle, 2 parallel mixed lanes and median strips, safety strips, and sidewalks on both sides of the road. The road north of the bridge is 50m wide, including 4 motor vehicle lanes in the middle, 2 parallel mixed lanes and median strips, safety strips, and sidewalks on both sides of the road.

The Red River area belongs to Thuong Cat ward, Bac Tu Liem district. This area is expected to build Thuong Cat bridge.

According to the Hanoi People's Committee, the investment in the construction of Thuong Cat Bridge ensures synchronization, continuity, and connection of the entire Ring Road 3.5 from the South to the North of the Red River. At the same time, it opens more connecting roads to the West and Southwest of the capital between districts and counties in the North and South of the Red River. It is known that the Thuong Cat bridge project has a total investment of nearly 8,300 billion VND from the city budget. The Hanoi City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board is the investor.

Thuong Cat Bridge is one of 10 bridges across the Red River in the Hanoi Transport Planning, implemented in the period of 2015-2030; the remaining 9 bridges include: Hong Ha, Me So (ring road 4), Thang Long Moi (ring road 3), Tu Lien, Vinh Tuy (phase 2), Ngoc Hoi (ring road 3.5), Tran Hung Dao bridge/tunnel, Phu Xuyen bridge, Van Phuc (North-South axis road connecting to Vinh Phuc province).
