The project to renovate and expand Nguyen Tuan Street according to the planning has a total land area of 14,334 m2 of land recovered for site clearance (GPMB) of 11 organizations and 160 households and individuals. By early October 2024, there were still 84 organizations and individuals who had not received compensation and support for GPMB.

Thanh Xuan Trung Ward People's Committee said that most households have not agreed with the compensation and site clearance plan because this land does not have a land use right certificate.

The origin of the land of these households is due to a number of agencies deciding to allocate land to officials and employees to build kiosks. However, these decisions clearly state: These plots of land cannot be bought, sold or transferred and must be returned to the state when it needs to be reclaimed for project implementation.

These households have also filed complaints with the City Inspectorate, petitions to the Hanoi City People's Court and the Hanoi High People's Court. The City Inspectorate as well as the courts have affirmed that the District and Ward People's Committees have complied with the provisions of the law and the procedures in site clearance.
