Mr. Dang Van Hai (born in 1993, Phu Cat district, Binh Dinh), a photography enthusiast, shared that yesterday afternoon, June 25, while taking photos of the seaweed season in Nhon Hai commune, he accidentally caught the image of a whale surfacing to hunt for prey.
The image recorded by Mr. Hai shows a whale rising to the surface of the water, opening its mouth to hunt, while a flock of seabirds fly above.
After being shared on Facebook, the clip attracted the attention of many people.
Recently, on June 7, a tourist while taking tourists to visit the sea in My An commune (Phu My district, Binh Dinh) also encountered the scene of a large whale surfacing to hunt for prey.
Notably, in recent years, the scene of whales hunting in the waters of Binh Dinh province has also continuously appeared. Specifically, in the waters of De Gi - Vung Boi, Phu Cat district, in 2022 and 2023, people discovered and recorded the scene of Balaenoptera edeni whales (commonly known as Bryde's whales) swimming and hunting.
Sharing about the phenomenon of whales appearing in Binh Dinh waters, experts from the Center for Biodiversity Conservation and Endangered Species (CBES) said that this season, the sea has a lot of food, the location where they appeared is less exploited for seafood, and the water is clearer and cleaner than other places.
