After the Saudi Arabian national championship ended, C. Ronaldo confirmed that "a chapter in his career has closed". That implied that he would leave Al Nassr after his contract ended at the end of this month. FIFA President Gianni Infantino even hinted at the prospect of the Portuguese superstar joining a club competing in the FIFA Club World Cup.

However, recently, C. Ronaldo decided to sign a new 2-year contract with Al Nassr (until 2027). According to The Sun, C. Ronaldo will earn 492 million pounds in the next two years with Al Nassr. This is the biggest contract in sports history.
Sharing about his change of attitude, C. Ronaldo expressed: “From the first day I arrived here, I was committed to not only changing Al Nassr but also changing football in Saudi Arabia. My goal has always been to win major titles with the team. That is why I extended my contract for 2 more years. I believe I will become a champion here.
My family has always supported my decisions, from Juventus, Man Utd to Real Madrid. The most important thing is that they are happy in Saudi Arabia. If they are happy, I am happy. Life here is very good. The people of Saudi Arabia treat us very well. That is why we want to continue living here.
C. Ronaldo admitted that he turned down an invitation from his club to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup. He added: “I received a few invitations to play in the FIFA Club World Cup but I thought it was not reasonable. I wanted to have a reasonable break because this year's season is very long. I want to be ready for both Al Nassr and the national team.
I played my last game of the season in the Nations League with Portugal. I didn't listen to anything else because I wanted to continue to dedicate myself to the team I love."

The Portuguese superstar also affirmed that the quality of the Saudi Arabian league is among the top 5 in the world. The striker added: “I believe that the Saudi Arabian championship is among the top 5 in the world. Those who say it is not in the top 5 do not understand anything about football. I dare to take responsibility for my words. Those who have played here also understand that clearly. That is why I want to continue to be associated with Al Nassr.”
To date, Ronaldo has scored 93 goals in 105 matches for Al Nassr. That is an impressive performance for a player who has turned 40. If counting both national team and club level, he has a total of 938 goals and is aiming for the milestone of scoring 1,000 goals.
