On the afternoon of August 1, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team had their opening match at SEA V.League 2025 against Indonesia. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team did not encounter many difficulties to quickly win 3-0 despite this being a highly rated opponent.

In this match, star Bich Tuyen did not even play. The overwhelming victory helped the Vietnamese women's volleyball team get off to a good start, aiming to overthrow the Thai women's team in the SEA V.League for the first time in history.

Not stopping there, the 3-0 victory helped the team gain 4.11 points in the world rankings. Thanks to that, they rose to 24th place, the highest ranking in the history of Vietnamese women's volleyball.

Previously, at the AVC Nations Cup in June, Vietnamese women's volleyball entered the world's top 30 for the first time. The continuous rise in rankings is thanks to continuous good results in international arenas such as the AVC Challenge Cup (predecessor of the AVC Nations Cup), Asian Championship, Asiad, FIVB Challenger Cup, etc.

Along with that, this year's SEA V.League was also included in the points system by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB). Thanks to that, the Vietnamese team was awarded points after the victory over Indonesia.

Tomorrow (August 2), the Vietnamese team will meet the Philippines. And the Vietnamese team is almost certain to win to gain more points. After this match, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team does not have to worry about losing points when facing Thailand on the evening of August 3.

The reason is that before that, Thailand participated in the world-level tournament Volleyball Nations League (VNL), so they were not counted for ranking points in SEA V.League. Therefore, whether they win or lose to this opponent in SEA V.League, the score of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will not be affected.
