Truong Sa soldiers rescue fishermen in distress at Da Tay island

At noon on August 12, Ship 937 (Flotilla 921, Squadron 129, Vietnam Navy) received a notice from Da Tay Island, Truong Sa Economic Zone, that a fisherman had an accident while fishing at sea and needed support.

The victim was Mr. Tran Van Ty, born in 1989, from Phu Quy Special Zone ( Lam Dong province), a fisherman of Fishing Boat No. BTh-96617TS captained by Mr. Tran Hon (in Phu Quy Special Zone).

Immediately after the accident, Mr. Ty was taken to Da Tay Island and diagnosed with decompression sickness due to deep diving, with symptoms of muscle pain in all four limbs, weakness, difficulty walking... and needed to be taken to Truong Sa Island Infirmary for emergency treatment.

Upon order, Ship 937 provided health care, moral encouragement, and ensured absolute safety for the fishermen throughout the journey to the emergency room.

When the ship docked at Truong Sa Lon Island, officers and soldiers of Ship 937 visited, encouraged and handed over the patient to Truong Sa Island Infirmary for further treatment. Currently, the patient is receiving IV fluids, oxygen, and is in stable mental state.
