Vietnamese bodybuilding wins 5 Asian championships on the first day

(NLDO) - Competing on the first day of the 2025 Asian Championship, Vietnamese bodybuilders competed in 11/18 events and brought home a total of 5 gold medals.

The achievement of topping the Southeast Asian tournament that took place the day before made the spirit of Vietnamese bodybuilders extremely excited. The bodybuilders who had not yet stepped onto the stage were very eager, waiting to bring home achievements in the continental arena.

Tran Anh Tu (middle) won the gold medal in the men's 55 kg bodybuilding category.

The determination of the Vietnamese athletes was initially rewarded. Two athletes from Dong Nai , Tran Anh Vu (bodybuilding, men's 55 kg) and Tran Van Khanh (bodybuilding, men's 70 kg) consecutively stepped onto the highest victory podium. Not long after that, Nguyen Viet Phu brought home the third gold medal in the bodybuilding category for men under 80 kg for athletes aged 40-49.

Tran Van Khanh won gold medals in both the Asian and Southeast Asian tournaments in the men's 70 kg category.

There was some regret for Nguyen Van Quang when the "veteran" from Khanh Hoa only came in second in the bodybuilding category for men over 80 kg for athletes aged 50-60. Phung Huu Thanh won a bronze medal in the bodybuilding category for men 60 kg and Phan Huynh Duc - Le Thi Cam Huong won third place in the mixed bodybuilding category regardless of weight.

The most impressive event among the competitions was the fact that the two 2024 world champions, Nguyen Thi Kim Dung (fitness physique, female athlete up to 1.65 m tall) and Ta Thi Ngoc Bich (fitness physique, female athlete over 1.65 m tall), affirmed their position in the Asian arena.

The lively, powerful, and expressive performances of Kim Dung and Ngoc Bich brought the Vietnamese team their fourth and fifth championships on the first day of competition.

Winning 5 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 4 bronze medals, the Vietnamese team temporarily leads the medal tally of the Asian Championship after the first 18 events. The host team Thailand temporarily ranks second (3 gold medals, 7 silver medals, 2 bronze medals) and Pakistan temporarily ranks third (2 gold medals)...

Ta Thi Ngoc Bich won the gold medal for fitness physique athlete over 1.65 m

On the second day of competition of the Asian Bodybuilding Championships (August 23), athletes from 27 countries and territories will continue to show off their talents in 23 events including fitness and bodybuilding. The Vietnamese team hopes to improve their performance and exceed the medal target when many veteran faces are ready to compete, such as Dinh Kim Loan, Nguyen Thi Kim Dung, Ta Thi Ngoc Bich, Nguyen Van Quang, Nguyen Minh My, Chau Nguyen Kha...
