Arrest of suspect using social media to insult many officials

On November 27, the Investigation Police Agency of Dong Hoi City Police ( Quang Binh ) announced that it had just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Nguyen Thu Hang (61 years old, Nam Ly Ward, Dong Hoi City) for 3 months for disturbing public order and security, using social networks to curse and insult local officials.

The prosecution decisions were approved by the Dong Hoi City People's Procuracy on November 25.

According to the Investigation Police Agency, Ms. Hang was not satisfied with the verdict of the People's Court of Quang Binh province on the first instance civil case of "dispute over land use rights and request to cancel the land use rights certificate". Since April 2023, Ms. Hang has used social media to post clips cursing and insulting Mr. NVN (the judge presiding over the trial).

In addition, Ms. Hang also used her social media account to post self-recorded clips with abusive language, causing disorder at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Nam Ly Ward and the Department of Education and Training of Dong Hoi City; insulting the honor and dignity of many local officials.
