The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that on the morning of August 30, the tropical depression in the northwestern sea of the North East Sea strengthened into storm No. 6 (international name: Nongfa).
At 10am, the storm center was active in the Ha Tinh - Hue sea area, about 120km east of the northern Quang Tri area (former Quang Binh province). The strongest wind was level 8 (62-74km/h), gusting to level 10.
Forecast in the next 3 hours, the storm moves west at a speed of about 25-30km/h.
Vietnam Airlines announced that due to the impact of weather conditions, the airline plans to adjust its flight schedule at Dong Hoi (Quang Tri) and Phu Bai (Hue) airports on August 30.
Specifically, at Dong Hoi airport, flights VN 7592, VN 7405, VN 1591, VN 1590 between Hanoi and Dong Hoi; VN 7404, VN 7405, VN 1404, VN 1405 between Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Hoi will be operated early before 10:00 on August 30.
At Phu Bai airport, flights VN 1541, VN 1540 between Hanoi and Hue; VN 1366, VN 1367, VN 1370, VN 1371 between Ho Chi Minh City and Hue will have their operating time adjusted after 12:00 on August 30.
At airports in Thanh Hoa and Da Nang, the airline will closely monitor weather changes to have appropriate operational adjustments if there is any impact.

At 7:00 a.m. on August 31, the tropical depression moved deep inland and weakened into a low pressure area over Central Laos.
The meteorological agency forecasts that from noon on August 30, the coastal areas of Nghe An - Quang Tri will have winds gradually increasing to level 6, gusting to level 8; inland coastal areas of Ha Tinh - Northern Quang Tri will have winds of level 6-7, near the storm center level 8, gusting to level 10. There may be strong thunderstorms and tornadoes before the storm makes a direct impact.
According to the forecast, from August 30 to August 31, the area from Thanh Hoa to Hue will have heavy to very heavy rain, generally 150-300mm, locally over 500mm; the Midlands, Northern Delta and Da Nang will have moderate to heavy rain, locally very heavy rain, generally 70-150mm, some places over 300mm.
