The cost of treatment is very expensive. Thanks to the health insurance card, my family has been able to reduce the burden of hospital fees when I am sick. I am assured of treatment.
Health insurance policy is a solid support for many people, including the disadvantaged - those who are unable to prepare for medical risks. Doctor Pham Dang Que, Director of Pho Noi General Hospital said: During the treatment process, we received many cases of patients with serious illnesses such as: Meningitis, respiratory failure, severe traffic accidents... Among them, there are cases that have to be treated for months, even years, using ventilators, antibiotics, and high technology continuously. The cost of treatment for these cases is quite expensive, causing economic pressure on many families. For patients participating in health insurance, the health insurance fund covers the treatment costs, helping patients feel secure in their treatment to recover their health.
From the beginning of the year to the end of May 2025, the whole province had nearly 587 thousand people examined and treated with health insurance with a total cost of nearly 436 billion VND. In which, there were many cases where patients were paid hundreds of millions of VND. In addition to paying for normal medical examination and treatment costs, the Health Insurance Fund also paid for many people with serious and chronic diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, kidney failure, etc.
People's participation in health insurance is considered a form of savings "contribute when healthy, save when sick". In order to help people understand their rights when participating in health insurance, the provincial Social Insurance sector actively coordinates with relevant sectors and localities to promote the implementation of policies and laws on health insurance to mobilize people to participate. The province also issued many policies to support health insurance participants. Currently, the whole province has 9 groups of subjects supported with 100% of health insurance premiums. This support has contributed to increasing the health insurance coverage rate in the province. By the end of May 2025, the whole province had nearly 1.17 million people participating in health insurance, reaching 95% of the plan assigned by Vietnam Social Insurance.
To ensure the rights of health insurance participants, in recent years, medical facilities from the provincial to grassroots levels have been invested in, built, renovated and upgraded. The quality of medical services has been improved, the quality of medical examination and treatment has been raised. Many new drugs, techniques and modern medical services are paid for by the health insurance fund to ensure the maximum rights of health insurance card holders when going for medical examination and treatment.
