At the press conference of the Ministry of Public Security on the afternoon of July 7, a representative of the Department of Police Investigation of Economic Crimes, Corruption, and Smuggling said that the Ministry of Public Security's Police Investigation Agency has prosecuted Mr. Dao Nam Hai, former General Director of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group Petrolimex, for the crime of "Receiving bribes".
In addition, at Petrolimex Insurance Corporation (PJICO, stock code: PGI), another former general director, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Giang, was also prosecuted for the crime of accepting bribes.
Mr. Dao Nam Hai has held the position of CEO of Petrolimex since March 2022. Last June, he was dismissed from this position and suspended from being a member of the Board of Directors of Petrolimex.
Mr. Hai has held many key positions at Petrolimex member companies such as: Member of the Board of Directors of Petrolimex Construction Group Joint Stock Company 1, Member of the Board of Directors of Vietnam National Reinsurance Corporation.

Previously, from January 2013, Mr. Hai was a member of the Board of Directors and General Director of PJICO. UnderMr. Hai's leadership, PJICO's business situation has fluctuated. specifically, PJICO's after-tax profit in 2013 only reached nearly 66 billion VND, down 33% compared to the previous year.
However, from 2014 onwards, PJICO's after-tax profit increased sharply over the years. At its peak in 2021, the company recorded its highest profit in history at VND352 billion, an increase of 433% compared to when Mr. The first two took office.
In March 2022, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Giang was appointed General Director of PJICO, succeeding Mr. Dao Nam Hai. In May 2025, Ms. Giang was dismissed from this position.
Under Ms. Huong Giang, PJICO recorded a profit after tax of only nearly 204 billion VND, down 42% compared to the previous year. After that, PJICO's business situation gradually improved and had a slight growth again.
According to the latest business results, in the first quarter of 2025, PJICO recorded total revenue of VND 1,343 billion, up 3.3%, reaching 26% of the plan. After deducting expenses, the company's after-tax profit reached VND 71 billion, up slightly by 5.1% over the same period.
