Mrs. Dinh has 3 children. Her husband died when the youngest was only 5 years old. This year, he is 35 years old, and went on a boat to make a living - he is the "most normal" of her 3 children. The other two are over 40 years old, but their mental health is unstable, sometimes they are sober, sometimes they have fits of screaming like children. In the house, besides her husband's altar and the bed, the faded Second Class Resistance Medal is the most valuable. Every day, Mrs. Dinh collects scrap metal, catches snails, picks vegetables... to earn a few tens of thousands to pay for medicine and other miscellaneous expenses for the 3 of them.
After being approached by Ca Mau Radio and Television Station, connecting businesses and philanthropists, Ms. Dinh's family was given a total of 62 million VND. Of which, 52 million was for building a new house, 10 million was for saving, in case of illness.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of life, journalists like us are still writing stories about difficult but kind lives, touching millions of hearts.
Like the story “Continuing the dream” of the unfortunate poor student Luong Van Lan. His parents divorced when he was young, and in 6th grade his mother abandoned him to find her own happiness. To have money to go to school and rent a room, Lan had to sell lottery tickets and work part-time. Despite the hardship, for 9 consecutive years he was always an excellent student, passing the 10th grade Physics exam at Phan Ngoc Hien High School for the Gifted, Ca Mau City.
Within just a few hours of posting the article on the Ca Mau News page, Lan’s strong will touched the hearts of philanthropists near and far, and everyone joined hands to give her many scholarships worth tens of millions of dong. Also from this article, the Producer of the program “Dream Journey” Nguyen Huynh Nhu came to Lan to conduct the program, helping her move forward towards the future.

Behind the stories of hardship and poverty of each situation and life that we encounter in this life, their strong will and determination to overcome difficulties is also what makes us journalists admire.
Like the story of Nguyen Chi Nguyen's family in Hamlet 3, U Minh town, U Minh district. Nguyen used to have many dreams, the dream of taking care of his children's education, building a decent house for his wife and children to live comfortably. But in 2016, he was diagnosed with a multicystic meningioma and a kidney tumor, which exhausted his health. Since Nguyen's illness, all the hardships have fallen on his wife, Le Bich Thuy. She alone has shouldered the burden of raising her husband and taking care of her son Nguyen Dang Khoi's education. Faced with his difficult family situation and the illness surrounding him, Ca Mau Radio and Television Station has connected and mobilized 50 million VND in support to help the family realize their dream of building a new house. In addition, benefactors also gave Nguyen Dang Khoi a scholarship of 15 million VND and 22 million VND in funding to help Nguyen treat his illness.

There are still many, many difficult circumstances in the province that Ca Mau Radio and Television Station as well as Ca Mau press agencies accompany and share through charity programs, articles published in print newspapers, broadcast on radio and television. Thereby, they have spread and received love and positive sharing from the community.
Currently, Ca Mau Radio and Television Station in collaboration with Ca Mau Lottery Company Limited maintains the program "Warm home", supporting 60 million VND each month to help poor people build new houses. Not only stopping at houses, the program also mobilizes philanthropists, domestic and foreign enterprises to support additional funds for families to earn a living, aiming at the criteria of sustainable poverty reduction. The Youth Union of Ca Mau Radio and Television Station maintains the programs "A letter from a friend helping a friend" and "A safe ferry trip" to motivate poor students to go to school.

One of the important milestones in the social security programs of Ca Mau Radio and Television Station is the program "Aspiration to Live", which has brought tears to the eyes of many viewers, reviving the desire to live for 238 poor and destitute families with a sum of up to 19 billion VND. Promoting the achievements in social security work, in early 2025, Ca Mau Radio and Television Station produced the program "Safe Steering Wheel", a live radio program and livestream on a digital platform. Each episode of the program will connect and support a difficult traffic accident situation in need of help in the province. In the first 3 episodes, the total amount of money given to the 3 situations is more than 70 million VND.
Over the years, Ca Mau newspapers have always considered the human factor as the top priority by opening many columns on kindness, beautiful living and many social security activities. The column "Humanitarian Bridge" in Ca Mau newspaper has long been a bridge connecting the poor to their dreams, receiving support from philanthropists. Every year, the Ca Mau Newspaper's grassroots trade union organizes the "Spring of Love" program; connecting businesses and philanthropists to make many trips back to the source, visit and give gifts to families with meritorious services, poor households, and poor students who love to study; connecting businesses to support playgrounds for children in remote areas... with a total budget of hundreds of millions of VND. The Vietnam Journalists Association of Ca Mau province pays attention to localities lacking in infrastructure conditions; families of people with meritorious services to the revolution who have difficulty with housing to connect and mobilize for construction.

All of these activities have created positive effects on society, spreading widely and changing the fates of many people, many lands and especially fanning the flames of compassion and kindness in the community.
“Not only fulfilling the role of an information bridge, over the years, press agencies and journalists in Ca Mau province have persistently participated in community charity activities to join hands in connecting social security. Many poor and sick people have received timely assistance thanks to the press, saving them from hardship and deadlock,” said journalist Nguyen Thanh Dung, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association in Ca Mau province, proudly.
When writing this article, we are not glorifying ourselves but to see the role of journalists in modern society. In addition to cultural, political and social information work, there are also volunteer activities for the community. Through that, it is affirmed that the press always plays an important role in social life, caring for and serving the people well. Many journalists have quietly made efforts to do good deeds behind the words, becoming a bridge: connecting social security - reviving development./.
