Ms. Lu Jingru, former nurse at Nanxishan Hospital (Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China):

Today's prosperous Vietnam was built from sacrifices and losses.

Ms. Lu Tinh Nhu shared that the time she worked at Nam Khe Son Hospital when she was only 17-18 years old, during the period of aid to Vietnam, was an unforgettable memory. At that time, young nurses like her directly participated in rescuing and treating wounded and sick Vietnamese soldiers.

Mrs. Nhu emotionally recalled that during the days with the wounded soldiers, the nurses not only treated them but also learned the spirit of courage, resilience, and not being afraid of sacrifice. She said: “There were soldiers who were only our age at that time who went to war. Looking at them, some lost arms, some lost legs, I was truly heartbroken. But it was that optimistic spirit, finding joy in hardship, that motivated the medical team to work harder to care for them, because they felt that serving the wounded soldiers was also a way to support Vietnam's resistance.”

After work, Chinese nurses often come to the ward to learn Vietnamese and practice singing songs like “Vietnam - China” and “Liberation of the South” sung by wounded soldiers. “Everyone sings, dances, and organizes many activities during holidays and Tet. We are close, living together like brothers and sisters, like blood relatives in a family,” she said emotionally.

On her return to Vietnam, Ms. Lu Jingru expressed her joy at the changes and prosperous development of Vietnam. She shared: “From the moment we landed at the airport, we were warmly welcomed by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations. Entering the city, I was excited to see the tall buildings next to each other, the wide roads, and the colorful flags. Witnessing today's development, I am more aware of the price of peace . This prosperity was built from the sacrifices and losses that I have witnessed with my own eyes.” She expressed her belief that Vietnam will grow stronger and stronger, and the China-Vietnam friendship will continue to be inherited and promoted by the younger generation through constant exchange and learning.

Mr. Lieu Hong Lam, Party Secretary of Nam Khe Son Hospital:

Nam Khe Son Hospital is the "window of friendship" between Vietnam and China.

Mr. Lieu Hong Lam, Secretary of the Party Committee of Nam Khe Son Hospital, said that the hospital was established under the direction of Prime Minister Zhou Enlai, specializing in receiving and treating wounded Vietnamese soldiers during the war against the US. From 1969 to 1975, the hospital received and treated more than 5,400 wounded cadres, performed 2,576 surgeries and donated nearly 780,000 ml of blood.

Today, the hospital has become a “window of friendship” with Vietnam. Since 2010, the hospital’s traditional house has welcomed 50 Vietnamese delegations with nearly 2,000 people. The hospital has also maintained close cooperation with the health sector of four border provinces of Quang Ninh, Cao Bang, Lang Son and Tuyen Quang. At the end of August, the hospital director and the Guangxi health delegation signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with Bai Chay Hospital of Quang Ninh province. The two sides have learned and shared experiences to improve medical techniques, and will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the future.

Mr. Liu Honglin said that the youth of the two countries need to increase exchanges to become cultural ambassadors, colleagues in professional fields and worthy successors of the traditional friendship. On the occasion of Vietnam's National Day, he sent his best wishes for Vietnam to be prosperous and the friendship between China and Vietnam to be forever green and sustainable.

As a guide, Ms. Luc Quoc Co deeply feels the important role of the Exhibition House in educating the tradition, helping the younger generation understand and continue the friendship. She shared that when Vietnamese visitors come, they often recount many historical memories of their ancestors with the Chinese revolutionaries, which makes the exhibition staff even more moved and determined to convey historical values.

Chinese visitors also appreciated the detailed exhibits, which truly reflected the deep friendship between the two countries. In her role, she hopes to contribute to spreading this traditional friendship to the younger generation, so that the youth of the two countries in the future will have more opportunities for cooperation and comprehensive exchange.
