Exciting Independence Cup football tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the Vietnamese Embassy in Saudi Arabia organized the Independence Cup football tournament in Riyadh.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Hoang Huu Anh emphasized that the Independence Cup football tournament is an event in a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.

On August 29, in the historic autumn atmosphere to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day September 2 (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the Vietnamese Embassy in Saudi Arabia organized the Independence Cup football tournament with the participation of 4 teams: CEER headquarters, Dai Dung, CEER Camel and Embassy and Community Alliance, with enthusiastic cheers from the large Vietnamese community in Saudi Arabia and local friends.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Hoang Huu Anh emphasized that the event is part of a series of activities organized by the Embassy to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 (Community Football Tournament on August 29, Art Exhibition on September 1, National Day Celebration on September 22).

The event achieved three goals: Emphasizing the historical significance of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 as well as the efforts, solidarity and unanimity of our people over the past 80 years of fighting to unify the country and develop Vietnam to this day; continuing to spread the image of the country and people of Vietnam to the people of Saudi Arabia; further tightening ties within the community and creating a healthy playground, oriented towards the homeland.

In the spirit of "Taking national pride and passion for football as motivation for competition; taking fun and health as important; taking unity and solidarity as the main thing", the teams have devoted themselves, competed enthusiastically with professional skills and high team spirit, bringing the audience many beautiful plays.
