(Chinhphu.vn) - On the morning of September 2, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Hanoi City solemnly held the Ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

At exactly 6:30 a.m., the traditional torch-lighting ceremony and the lighting of the pyre began, opening the Celebration.

The flame was lit on the pyre - a symbol of the aspirations of the Vietnamese people - by Lieutenant General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Duc Soat, former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, who had an exceptionally outstanding achievement of shooting down 6 enemy planes, becoming one of the heroic pilots of the Vietnam People's Army.

Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, read the speech "Celebrating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025)".

General Secretary To Lam was moved to express: In this sacred moment, we respectfully remember our ancestors, express our infinite gratitude to the great President Ho Chi Minh; pay tribute to our revolutionary predecessors, millions of compatriots and soldiers who sacrificed and devoted themselves to the independence, freedom, reunification of the Fatherland and the happiness of the people.

We will forever remember the contributions of Vietnamese heroic mothers, war veterans, wounded and sick soldiers, families of martyrs, and people with revolutionary contributions; and engrave in our hearts the contributions of workers, farmers, businessmen, intellectuals, artists, the elderly, youth, women, children, compatriots of all religions and ethnicities, our compatriots abroad, friends and progressive people around the world who have stood shoulder to shoulder, helped and supported the just revolutionary cause of the Vietnamese people over the past eighty years.

The Vietnamese Fatherland is the crystallization of a thousand-year cultural tradition of building and defending the country; of steadfastness, intelligence, compassion and aspiration to rise up. That spirit has forged the great strength of the August Revolution; of two long resistance wars against colonialism and imperialism; of the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in peace; of the cause of innovation, international integration and national development. That is the strength originating from the People, belonging to the People, for the People; the strength of the great national unity bloc under the glorious flag of the Communist Party of Vietnam founded, led and trained by President Ho Chi Minh.

We are proud to affirm that: All victories of the Vietnamese revolution are associated with the correct and wise leadership of the Party and the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh. Our Party, the vanguard of the working class, at the same time the vanguard of the working people and the Vietnamese nation, always adheres to the goal of national independence associated with socialism; creatively applies and develops Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's ideology in accordance with the country's reality in each period; puts the interests of the Fatherland and the People above all and first. Thanks to that, our nation has overcome countless difficulties and challenges; our country has transformed from a colony into an independent and unified nation, steadily advancing towards modernity and deep integration; its position and prestige are increasingly affirmed in the international arena.

The task of protecting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland; maintaining security, order and social safety for rapid and sustainable national development; and constantly improving the people's lives and happiness is our command to act. Successfully achieving these three goals is fulfilling Uncle Ho's wish before he passed away: "My final wish is: for our entire Party and people to unite and strive to build a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and prosperous Vietnam, and to make a worthy contribution to the cause of the world revolution."

Through the 80-year journey full of hardships but heroic, we have affirmed the truth: under the glorious flag of the Party, with the light of Ho Chi Minh guiding the way, relying on the strength of the people and the great national unity, there is no difficulty or challenge that our people cannot overcome; there is no noble goal that our nation cannot achieve. Therefore, there is no obstacle, no reason that can stop us from reaching peace, prosperity, our nation's longevity and development.

Looking to the future, our Party sets the goal that by 2045, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country, Vietnam will be a powerful, prosperous and happy nation. That is the aspiration of the entire nation, an oath of honor before History and the People.

The leader of our Party calls on the entire Party, the entire people, the entire army, and our compatriots at home and abroad, through concrete and practical actions, to unite, join hands, and be of one mind, turning aspirations into reality; to make more efforts and be more determined; to highly promote Vietnamese intelligence, creativity, and mettle; and to successfully carry out the goals and tasks set by the Party and State and expected by the People.

We are determined and persistent in defending the independence, freedom, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and every inch of the sacred land of the Fatherland with the combined strength of the entire nation: political, economic, cultural, scientific, technological, military, foreign affairs strength, and the strength of the people. We want to be friends and reliable partners with all countries in the world. We respect international law and the United Nations Charter; resolve disagreements and disputes by peaceful means. We absolutely do not give in to any plots and actions that violate independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity; and resolutely and firmly protect national and ethnic interests.

In this sacred moment, each of us seems to hear the echo of Uncle Ho's 1945 Declaration of Independence, to see millions of Vietnamese hearts beating with pride, to resound the oath "to die for the survival of the Fatherland". We understand more and more the value of "Independence", "Freedom", "Happiness"; we value and are more determined to cultivate peace; we deeply understand the sacred meaning of the words "My People", "My Fatherland".

Once again, I respectfully bow before the spirit of the great President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs who have incarnated into the country and the sacred soul of the nation.

I would like to send my warmest congratulations to my compatriots, comrades, soldiers nationwide, overseas Vietnamese, and international friends on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The opening ceremony was a ceremonial block including a model car of the National Emblem, a block of National Flags - Party Flags, a car carrying a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh and a model car symbolizing the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Next were 22 walking blocks of the Vietnam People's Army, led by the command vehicle and the Army Flag Group vehicle. The Flag Group commanded by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Hong Thai, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, led the blocks representing the heroic Vietnam People's Army and the Militia and Self-Defense Force.

On the flag of determination to fight and victory fluttering, the noble medals are sparkling, engraved with countless blood and bones, heroic feats, beautifying the glorious tradition as Uncle Ho praised: "Our army is loyal to the Party, filial to the people, ready to fight and sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for socialism, completing every task, overcoming every difficulty, defeating every enemy"; worthy of being the heroic army of a heroic nation.

The People's Army blocs include: Honorary bloc of 3 military branches - Female Military Music bloc - Army Officer bloc - Navy Officer bloc - Air Defense - Air Force Officer bloc - Border Guard Officer bloc - Vietnam Coast Guard Officer bloc - Logistics, Engineering, Defense Industry officer bloc - Female Military Medical officer bloc - Military school academies' students bloc - Electronic Warfare warrior bloc - Airborne Special Forces bloc - Cyberspace Warfare force bloc - Vietnam Peacekeeping Women bloc - Armored Corps warrior bloc - Artillery warrior bloc - Special Forces warrior bloc - Female Commando warrior bloc - Engineer warrior bloc - Female Information warrior bloc - Chemical Defense warrior bloc.

Attending the military parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) were 4 military blocs from China, the Russian Federation, Laos and Cambodia.

The Vietnam People's Public Security forces were led by the command vehicle led by Major General Le Van Sao, Deputy Commander of the Mobile Police, Ministry of Public Security. Following was the flag-bearing Police Group - the glorious flag for security with noble awards bestowed by the Party and State.

Born during the height of the August Revolution in 1945, founded, educated, trained by the Party and Uncle Ho, and wholeheartedly trusted and supported by the people; the People's Public Security force has been intelligent and courageous in smashing all plots and activities of hostile and reactionary forces and all types of criminals, contributing to the construction and solid protection of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The People's Public Security force participating in the parade includes 17 groups: Command group and flag police vehicle group - People's Security male officer group - People's Police male officer group - Guard male officer group - People's Public Security Air Force male officer group - Traffic police female officer group - Fire prevention and fighting police male officer group - Cyber ​​security and high-tech crime prevention and control male officer group - Mobile police female officer group - United Nations peacekeeping police male officer group - Special police male officer group46. Logistics and technical group of the People's Public Security male student group of People's Public Security academies and schools - Mobile police reserve male officer group - Male force participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level - Cavalry Mobile police group.
