Hue Farm , Tam Da Commune, specializes in growing melons, baby cucumbers, and tomatoes in greenhouses with an area of over 7,000 m2 . Due to the impact of storm No. 3 (September 2024), the entire farm had its roof blown off, many columns collapsed, and more than 11,500 melon plants that were ready for harvest were affected, with estimated losses of billions of VND. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue , the farm owner, said: “After the storm, my family's farm was supported with 750 million VND to rebuild in a modern, solid direction, better respond to natural disasters, and increase production value. Thanks to that, my family has stabilized production again. Currently, each month, the farm has a revenue of about 60-70 million VND, minus expenses, the profit is 15-20 million VND".

Leaders of the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection (Department of Agriculture and Environment) inspected the production situation at the high-tech baby melon farm of Xuan Mai Cooperative.

Returning to the Duong River alluvial land in Chi Lang commune, during storm Yagi , the banana gardens here were completely wiped out. Mr. Ngo Van Cong's family has a 10-hectare banana garden, the storm caused the family nearly 2 billion VND in damage. Immediately after the water receded, he started cleaning up, improving the land and replanting the entire area. According to the policy of supporting agricultural production in areas damaged by storm No. 3 in the province, Mr. Cong's family was supported with more than 40 million VND to buy seedlings, and was instructed by specialized agencies on measures to support and limit damage caused by natural disasters. Thanks to that, his family's banana garden is now entering a strong growth phase, expected to be harvested at the end of the year with a revenue of hundreds of millions of VND.

Xuan Mai Cooperative, Nhan Thang Commune has nearly 7,000 m2 of greenhouses to grow baby cucumbers using high technology. During storm Yagi, the Cooperative's farm had 1,000 m2 of roof blown off and collapsed. After receiving more than 90 million VND in support funds, the Cooperative has restored 3/5 of the greenhouses to resume production. The entire greenhouse system has been reinforced with a sturdy frame to better cope with storms. Thanks to proactive techniques, varieties and materials, the Cooperative currently harvests 200-300 kg of melons per day at a stable price, earning about 120-130 million VND/month, helping members overcome difficulties. Mr. Bui Xuan Que, Director of the Cooperative, shared: "Without the support of the State, our thousands of m2 of greenhouses would not have been able to be put into production as they are today."

Storm Yagi has damaged hundreds of thousands of square meters of net houses and greenhouses, causing estimated losses of hundreds of billions of VND. According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Quang, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in the face of the huge losses caused by Storm Yagi, the provincial Department of Agriculture has actively directed the response, minimized the damage, and quickly stabilized production and people's lives. In addition to proactively issuing technical guidance documents for recovery of areas and production facilities for cultivation, livestock and aquaculture affected by the storm to minimize damage, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has directed and guided localities to urgently review and count the damage, as well as collect garbage, waste, dead animals, avoid environmental pollution, and outbreaks of disease; guide livestock and aquaculture care facilities to repair and restore barns, cages, ponds, and auxiliary works; prepare adequate raw materials and input materials for livestock farming and restock when conditions permit.

Accordingly, the total budget to support post-storm crop and livestock production in the province is up to more than 80 billion VND. Thereby, helping households, especially owners of high-tech agricultural farms, quickly stabilize production, initially generate income, and overcome damage caused by natural disasters.
