Bac Ninh sets GRDP growth target of 11-12% in the 2025 - 2030 period

On the afternoon of August 29, the Executive Committee of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee held a press conference to inform about the 16th Bac Ninh Provincial Party Congress (term 2025 - 2030), scheduled to take place on September 29 - 30. Bac Ninh is determined to make a breakthrough with a GRDP growth target higher than the Central Government's, along with a clear roadmap to become a centrally-run city, affirming its pioneering position in economic and social development.

According to the draft political report, Bac Ninh province sets a target of GRDP growth rate of 11-12% in the period of 2025 - 2030. This level is higher than 10.5% according to the draft document submitted to the 14th National Party Congress. This affirms the province's determination and strong development potential.

The Congress of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term will take place with the theme "Building a streamlined, strong, efficient and effective Party and political system; promoting the potential, advantages and cultural identity of Kinh Bac, self-reliance, building Bac Ninh province to develop rapidly, comprehensively and sustainably, becoming a centrally-run city before 2030". The motto of the congress is "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Creativity - Development".

The draft political report sets out 26 specific targets, including 10 economic targets, 7 social targets, 5 environmental targets, 1 security target and 3 Party building targets. At the same time, 5 key task groups and 3 breakthroughs are also identified to achieve the set goals.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Loi, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, spoke at the press conference. He said that the work of Party building and the political system has received special attention, aiming at streamlining, effectiveness and efficiency. The provincial economy has developed comprehensively, with many important indicators among the leading groups in the country. The average GRDP growth rate in the 2021-2025 period is estimated at 8.98%/year. The economic scale in 2025 is estimated at 522 trillion VND, ranking 5th in the country. The average GRDP per capita is estimated at 5,810 USD, 1.15 times higher than the national average. The average income per capita is estimated at 69.2 million VND/year, an increase of nearly 1.3 times compared to the beginning of the term.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, emphasized at the conference that the province identified the industrial and high-tech agricultural sectors as pillars of economic growth. At the same time, the province does not underestimate other economic sectors to ensure strong and comprehensive development. She also said that Bac Ninh has advantages in fruit tree agricultural areas, good climate and soil to develop fruit tree trade and services. In addition, historical and cultural relics such as Vinh Nghiem and Bo Da pagodas, Quan Ho folk songs and traditional craft villages are potentials for inclusive, harmonious and sustainable economic development among local areas.

Regarding education, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong affirmed that the province will continue to invest in infrastructure, improve the quality of mass education, key education and develop the teaching staff. The province has issued a resolution on attracting high-quality human resources and rewarding students and teachers with high achievements in education. In the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, the province has completed 2,516 houses with a total amount of over 205 billion VND, exceeding the schedule assigned by the Central Government.
