Binh Thuan: While swimming in Phan Thiet during strong winds and waves, three tourists from Lam Dong had an accident, two were rescued, one is missing.

On the afternoon of July 27, a group of 5 young men and 1 woman rode motorbikes from Lam Dong to Phan Thiet City to have fun at Doi Duong Park beach. It was raining lightly and the sea was rough, but the group still went swimming.
While swimming and playing, three people were swept away by the waves. Two people tried to swim back, were helped by local people, pulled to shore, given first aid, and taken to the hospital. The victim, Pham Bui Minh Khoi, 17 years old, from Lam Dong (just finished 11th grade) is missing.
Rescuers used canoes and fishing boats to search for the young man, but by evening they had not found him. Due to the impact of storm No. 2, Phan Thiet is currently experiencing heavy rain, big waves and limited visibility, making search operations difficult.
On July 15, a group of 7 Saigon tourists swimming in front of Victoria Resort, Phu Hai Ward, Phan Thiet City, were also swept away by waves and were brought to shore by a rescue team in a canoe. Two people were in critical condition and required emergency care.
