At 6:00 a.m. this morning, August 30, the center of the tropical depression was at about 17.7 degrees North latitude; 109.0 degrees East longitude, about 270 km east of Quang Tri province and about 210 km northeast of Hue city. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was level 7 (50-61 km/h), gusting to level 9. The tropical depression moved northwest at a speed of 20 km/h.

It is forecasted that in the next 12 hours, the tropical depression will likely strengthen into a storm, moving in a west-northwest direction at a speed of about 20km/hour. By 1pm today, the storm will be in the sea area of ​​Quang Tri - Hue , with the strongest wind at level 8, gusting to level 10, moving in a west-northwest direction. The storm will then move inland to Quang Tri - Hue and weaken into a low-pressure area in Central Laos. Around tonight, early tomorrow morning, the storm will make landfall in Quang Tri - Hue.

Due to the impact of storms and rain, from now until the end of tomorrow, Thanh Hoa - Hue will have 150-300 mm of rain, locally over 500 mm; midlands, Northern Delta and Da Nang 100-200 mm, some places over 400 mm.
