Specifically, the gold medal winner was male student Le Kien Thanh, grade 12, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Gia Lai . Kien Thanh ranked 12th out of more than 300 candidates from 90 countries and territories.
Two candidates Dang Huy Hau, grade 10 IT, Thang Long High School for the Gifted - Da Lat, Lam Dong and Nguyen Bui Duc Dung, grade 11, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences , Hanoi National University won silver medals, ranked 54th and 79th respectively.
Candidate Ninh Quang Thang, grade 12, Ha Long High School for the Gifted, Quang Ninh won a bronze medal, ranked 89th.

The International Olympiad in Informatics for high school students has been held since 1989 in Bulgaria. This year, the competition took place in Sucre, Bolivia, from July 27 to August 3, with more than 300 contestants from over 90 countries and territories.
