150 contestants enter the final round of the international classical music competition in Ho Chi Minh City

Pianist Nguyen Bich Tra and cellist Phan Do Phuc under the direction of conductor Tran Nhat Minh and the Saigon Festival Orchestra will perform in the Gala Concert - Grand Opus Performing Competition (GOPC) 2025 at The Global City (Do Xuan Hop Street, Binh Trung Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) on July 27.

The event is an artistic highlight within the framework of the GOPC 2025 competition, a professional playground for young classical music talents from many countries and territories.

This year, GOPC expanded the competition to violin and cello, in addition to piano, and held preliminary rounds in a series of locations such as mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, etc., gathering nearly 1,000 international contestants to participate in the preliminary round. The 150 best contestants will enter the final round taking place from July 24 to August 2 at The Global City, Ho Chi Minh City.

The unique highlight that makes GOPC famous is the Orchestra Final - a performance round with 2 symphony orchestras with more than 80 veteran artists, under the command of international conductors, is a rare opportunity for young talents to perform on a professional stage.
