1,000 scholarships to study in Russia for Vietnamese citizens each year

The Government of the Russian Federation reserves 1,000 scholarships for undergraduate, master's, doctoral, specialized internship and Russian language programs for Vietnamese citizens each year.

This information was announced by the Ministryof Education and Training during a working session between Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc and the leadership delegation of Bauman Technical Research University, Russian Federation (Bauman University) on June 11.

Accordingly, after the Agreement on Education and Training Cooperation between the two countries, each year the Russian Federation will provide 1,000 scholarships to Vietnam. The Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Education and Training) has worked with relevant Russian units to recruit students.

These scholarships are granted according to the regulations of the two countries. The Russian Government Scholarship includes tuition exemption for the duration of study, monthly scholarship and accommodation in a dormitory at a cost determined by the Government of the Russian Federation.

The Vietnamese Government's scholarship includes round-trip airfare, travel expenses, passport and visa fees, health insurance and monthly living allowance according to the regulations of the Vietnamese Government for international students studying under the agreement scholarship in the Russian Federation.

Training duration is as follows: 4-year bachelor's program; 5-year engineer/specialist program; 2-year master's program; 3-4-year doctoral program (not including 1 year of Russian language preparatory course); 3-12-month specialized internship program; 10-month Russian language internship program; 2-year medical internship.

The scholarship is open to students in grade 12, first-year students, and those with undergraduate, master's, or doctoral degrees who meet the requirements of the Russian Government Scholarship. Priority is given to candidates who have studied in the Russian Federation or studied Russian in Vietnam, or have an international Russian language certificate.

Candidates who have been considered for scholarships from the Government of the Russian Federation will be considered for compensation scholarships from the Government of Vietnam if they meet the prescribed requirements.

University students who are granted scholarships by the Vietnamese Government

First-year full-time students of Vietnamese universities, academies, and colleges, and students in grade 12 who have participated in national teams participating in international and regional Olympic competitions and won gold, silver, and bronze medals; participated in national competitions for excellent students, national science and technology competitions and won first, second, and third prizes; won prizes at the Russian Language Olympic organized by the Russian Center for Science and Culture;

Students in the armed forces; students who are children of martyrs; students nominated by the People's Committee of a province or centrally-run city to apply and commit to returning to work after graduation, with results of 3 years of high school of 7.0 or higher and the first semester of the first year of university of 7.0 or higher (on a 10-point scale or equivalent).
