Share hardship with the poor

Very early, many people from Kien Thiet commune (Yen Son) were present at the commune health station to receive free medical examination. Doctors and nurses from Hung Vuong Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City quickly welcomed, consulted, examined, prescribed and dispensed medicine.

People of Kien Thiet commune, Yen Son district were instructed on how to use oral medication by the Provincial Red Cross Association, the Provincial Military Command and sponsors.

Doctor Pham Quoc Hung, specialist II, Chairman of the Red Cross Association of Hung Vuong Hospital , Ho Chi Minh City, shared: “Tuyen Quang is a familiar address and a place for us to fulfill our promise of “love returning” to the people here. Many years ago, floods and the Covid-19 epidemic broke out, the whole of Ho Chi Minh City struggled to fight the epidemic, we received support and sharing from the leaders and people of Tuyen Quang province. To repay the gratitude of the people of Tuyen Quang, I and the doctors of the Hospital established a volunteer doctor group, sharing the spirit of volunteerism to participate in examining and treating the poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged people in remote, isolated, and medically disadvantaged areas. Since its establishment, the group has organized many medical examination and treatment programs for the poor people of the province, each time organized in a district”.

In Kien Thiet commune, the delegation examined and distributed more than 300 units of medicine to more than 300 people, with a total value of nearly 160 million VND. Mr. La Van Binh, over 70 years old, a third-class war invalid, Lang Ap village, Kien Thiet commune, expressed: "My family's circumstances are difficult and I am old. I am very happy to have the delegation of doctors and nurses come to my locality to examine and treat me for free. After being examined, the doctors and nurses carefully advised me on how to use each type of medicine. I hope that in the future, the delegation will continue to come to my locality to take care of the health of the people here even more."

Comrade Phu Duc Lam, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hong Quang Commune (Lam Binh) said: "The program of free medical examination and medicine provision coordinated by the Provincial Military Command and the Provincial Red Cross Association for the people of all ethnic groups in the commune is a very practical and meaningful work, demonstrating solidarity and closeness between the army and the people, contributing to the good implementation of people's health care work and effective implementation of social security policies in the locality".

Journey of charity
