The Tax Department of Region II (HCMC) confirmed that this invitation is fake, intended to commit fraud.
On June 8, an invitation appeared on social networks requesting businesses to come to the tax authority to deploy electronic identification and apply the policy of reducing and refunding value-added tax in 2025.
This invitation requires businesses to bring their ID card, business registration certificate, smartphone with internet connection and their own SIM card to declare taxes.
In addition, the invitation notes that businesses need to declare taxes electronically to receive electronic records and tax identification numbers before going to the tax office. In case of any questions, businesses can contact Mr. Tran Trung Hieu via phone number and Zalo 0528227266 for instructions.
The leader of the Tax Department of Region II (HCMC) confirmed that this invitation is fake, intended to carry out fraudulent acts.
According to this person, when the tax authority sends an invitation to a taxpayer, the content of the invitation does not include the phone number or Zalo of any individual. The tax industry stipulates that tax officers do not exchange information with taxpayers via mobile phone numbers or Zalo. Tax officers at the Tax Department of Region II and Tax Teams in Ho Chi Minh City only support and guide tax issues through hotlines or landline numbers of specialized departments.
The Tax Department of Region II said it will continue to monitor the situation of businesses receiving fake invitations and will issue warnings in the next few days.
