On October 25, according to news from the Office of the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue province , the Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision to administratively fine Hai An Production and Service Company Limited (Bau Dung village, Huong Van ward, Huong Tra town, with Mr. Nguyen Thanh Liem as director) 120 million VND, due to administrative violations at the Laterite iron ore mine as a cement additive in Dong Da area, Phong Xuan commune, Phong Dien district.

Specifically, after 6 months from the date the mineral exploitation license expired, the company did not submit a request to close the mine to the competent state agency according to regulations on mineral exploitation, under the licensing authority of the Provincial People's Committee.

A company in Thua Thien - Hue was previously fined more than 500 million VND for exploiting and filling up production forest land.

Previously, the Provincial People's Committee also issued a decision to administratively fine Hoang Ngoc Company Limited 120 million VND and Duy Thai Company Limited 120 million VND because these two companies exploited minerals while their licenses had expired for many months but did not submit a request to close the mine to the state agency as prescribed.

Previously, the Inspectorate of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Thua Thien - Hue province inspected the activities of a number of mineral exploitation enterprises in the area and discovered that these enterprises had violated the law.

Specifically, Huong Bang Stone Mining and Construction Joint Stock Company, administratively violated the mineral sector at Huong Bang stone mine (Khe Day, Huong Van Ward, Huong Tra Town), because the statistics of actual mineral output did not follow the procedures and forms prescribed by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for mining minerals for common construction materials using industrial explosives. The Inspectorate of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment issued a decision to administratively fine this company 50 million VND.

For Thanh Binh An Company Limited (mining minerals at the Son Thuy quarry for common construction materials, in Son Thuy commune, Ha Luoi), violating the statistics of actual exploited mineral output not following the procedures and forms prescribed by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, was fined 110 million VND.

Que Lam Central Company Limited (exploiting peat minerals by open-pit method in Bac Nay area, Phong Chuong commune, Phong Dien district) committed violations such as not making a map of the current status of the area permitted for mineral exploitation; not calculating the actual mineral output according to the prescribed procedures and forms... so the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to administratively fine 95 million VND.
