Lieutenant Colonel Luong Nghia Hiep, Chief of Phu Thuan Commune Police, said that the commune has many convenient traffic routes and many beautiful beaches that attract many tourists to come and play and swim. Taking advantage of this, groups of "speed demons" and criminals often come to the area to operate.
Recently, following the order of the Director of Hue City Police to conduct closed patrols and controls in the area, Phu Thuan Commune Police discovered Nguyen Van Thien (born 2007, residing in Thuy Xuan Ward, Thuan Hoa District, Hue City) driving a motorbike without a license plate, showing suspicious signs, so they chased him through many routes, controlled and arrested him.
At the police station, Thien admitted to using the stolen vehicle to return to Phu Thuan to continue stealing. Expanding the investigation, Phu Thuan Commune Police arrested two more related subjects, including Ho Van Khoi (born 2010, residing in Truong An Ward, Thuan Hoa District, Hue City) and Dinh Truong Vu (born 2007, residing in Duong No Ward, Thuan Hoa District, Hue City). All three subjects confessed to having committed many motorbike thefts in Hue City.
Or recently, after receiving a report from Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Bien (born in 1999, residing in Tay Loc ward, Phu Xuan district, Hue city) that her Honda vison motorbike with license plate 75F1-652.83 was stolen right in front of her house, using professional measures, Tay Loc ward police quickly investigated and clarified that Le Nghia (born in 1996, residing in An Dong ward, Thuan Hoa district, Hue city) was the one who stole Ms. Bien's motorbike. After Nghia was arrested, Tay Loc ward police recovered the stolen property to return to Ms. Bien.
Similarly, at the end of May 2025, the Investigation Police Agency of Hue City Police issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain a group of subjects including: Nguyen Huu Kien, Pham Cong Ky, Duong Van Chau, Nguyen Thanh Tam (all residing in Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city); Nguyen Tran Phu, Tran Khanh (all residing in Phu Loc district, Hue city, all born from 2004 to 2008) to investigate and clarify the act of "theft of property".
Phan Tran Tuan Vu (residing in Da Nang City) was bailed out by his family because he was underage. According to the police, these subjects are all unemployed, homeless, and have committed many thefts. Between March 30, 2025, and the time of arrest, this group of subjects committed 5 thefts of 6 motorbikes in Phu Loc district.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Anh Tuan, Head of the Traffic Police Department of Hue City Police, said that in order to improve the effectiveness of prevention, combat, and strict handling of acts of gathering, weaving, and illegal racing, the unit has arranged working groups to coordinate with the Traffic Police Department and Working Group 1311 to patrol and control the area from 9:00 p.m. the previous day to 2:30 a.m. the next morning. The focus is on handling violations of young people, teenagers, students, and students who gather, drive in groups, drive at high speeds, rev their engines, wheelies, weave, etc.
