Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, Director of the Center for Testing and Assessment of Training Quality of VNU-HCM, commented that the score distribution of the second round in 2025 is close to the standard distribution, the score range is wide, and there is a slight "rightward" tendency compared to the first round.
This may be due to the following reasons: First, of the total number of candidates taking the second round of the exam, more than 65,000 candidates had taken the first round. This is a group of candidates with good or better ability, with first round exam scores higher than the average.
Second, the second round takes place 2 months after the first round, giving candidates more time to review and consolidate their knowledge.
At the same time, due to the experience in the first round, candidates have more experience in taking the test, have better time management skills and exam room psychology, so they can improve their test results.
Held since 2018 with a scale that has been increasing every year, up to now, the Ho Chi Minh City National University's capacity assessment exam is considered the largest university entrance exam in the country.
Currently, more than 110universities have registered to use the results of this exam for admission in 2025.
In 2025, both rounds of the National High School Graduation Exam of Ho Chi Minh City National University recorded regrettable errors, affecting the rights of candidates and raising concerns about the organization and training of officers/invigilators for this exam.
Specifically, in the first round, in March this year, the invigilator of an exam room at An Giang University distributed the exam papers late and candidates reported losing about 20 minutes of time on the test.
In the second round, the National University of Ho Chi Minh City's High School Examination Council had to hold an extraordinary meeting to handle reports of incidents at Examination Cluster 9 (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - HUTECH).
There were two incidents recorded. In examination room number P42, examination site number 17, candidates were delayed about 30 minutes because the invigilator heard the wrong bell and did not allow them to take the test on time.
In exam room P39, candidates were not given scratch paper because the invigilator did not check all the materials.
