Container truck carrying cassava crashed into a house on stilts

At about 9:30 a.m. on January 4, 2024, container truck BS 74H - 001.68 was traveling on Ho Chi Minh road, from La Lay border gate to Dakrong suspension bridge, when passing through A Lieng village (Ta Rut commune, Dakrong district), it suddenly crashed into a stilt house on the side of the road.

At that time, the container truck lost control and crashed into a house on the side of the road. As a result, the front of the truck was deformed, the truck bed overturned, occupying the entire west branch of Ho Chi Minh Road, damaging some of the roadside railings. All the dried cassava on the truck bed spilled onto the road. Driver Nguyen Quang Trung (from Quang Tri ) was slightly injured.

The motorbike under the stilt house was damaged.

Fortunately, no one was home at the time of the accident. The collision also caused Mr. Ho Van Gia’s stilt house (built 4 years ago, costing over 700 million VND) to have broken pillars, become crooked, and be severely damaged.

In addition, the accident also caused a traffic jam of about 1 km at both ends of Ho Chi Minh Road. Currently, the authorities are mobilizing vehicles to clear the scene and investigate the cause of the container truck collapsing the house on stilts.
