The 33rd SEA Games 2025 will be held at venues in Bangkok, Chonburi and Songkhla, Thailand from December 9 to December 20.
The Vietnam Olympic Committee said that we will participate in 45 out of 66 sports and sub-sports at the 33rd SEA Games in 2025. Previously, the registration of Vietnamese sports events and sub-sports was carried out by the Vietnam Olympic Committee on time according to the regulations of the Thai host Organizing Committee.
We will participate in the following subjects and sub-disciplines: athletics, aquatic sports (swimming, diving), shooting, weightlifting, gymnastics, wrestling, taekwondo, karate, fencing, rowing, canoeing, archery, traditional boat racing, boxing, judo, jujitsu, petanque, wushu, kickboxing, muay, cycling, chess, archery, pencak silat, table tennis, aerobics, triathlon, football (grass field, futsal), volleyball (indoor, beach), handball, golf, basketball (5x5, 3x3), sepak takraw; tennis, badminton, bowling, sailing, roller, artistic gymnastics; billiards, figure skating, e-sports, baseball & softball, mixed martial arts (MMA).
In particular, billiards, figure skating, e-sports, baseball & softball, mixed martial arts (MMA) are planning to participate in the 33rd SEA Games-2025 using socialized resources.
Host Thailand has announced 55 sports and sub-sports to compete in the 33rd SEA Games 2025. Of these, 51 are in the official program and 3 are in the performance program (aerial sports (paragliding), discus throwing, tug of war). The entire Games this time have 580 official medals and 12 medals for performance events not included in the final tally.
The Vietnam Olympic Committee also said that Vietnamese sports have not yet registered a specific list of coaches and athletes participating in the 33rd SEA Games 2025 with the Organizing Committee and currently the professional work is being reviewed by the Vietnam Sports Department in the preparation process.
According to the plan, each national sports team will prepare the best force to participate in the 33rd SEA Games-2025 and the specific list will be reported to each department (Vietnam Sports Administration) and then consulted with the leaders of Vietnam Sports Administration to build the expected number of Vietnamese Sports Delegation to submit to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. We plan to go to Thailand with about 1,000 members to compete in the 33rd SEA Games-2025 with the goal of being in the top 3 countries in terms of overall medal achievements.
At the 32nd SEA Games held in Cambodia in 2023, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation participated with 1,003 members and then achieved a total of 136 gold medals, 105 silver medals, and 114 bronze medals, ranking first.
The 33rd SEA Games 2025 will be held at venues in Bangkok, Chonburi and Songkhla, Thailand from December 9 to December 20.
