In recent times, Tay Thuy Anh commune has implemented many practical solutions to care for and improve the material and spiritual life of people with revolutionary contributions, while widely spreading the good moral tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source" among cadres, party members and people of all walks of life.
Tay Thuy Anh commune has more than 870 NCC with the revolution and their relatives who are receiving monthly preferential allowances. The locality has closely coordinated with the authorities to pay the preferential allowances in full, to the right people, on time, ensuring thoughtfulness and timeliness. Along with that, on holidays, especially War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27), the commune organizes many meaningful activities such as: Visiting and giving gifts to war invalids and relatives of martyrs; visiting martyrs' cemeteries, expressing affection and gratitude to those who have sacrificed and contributed to the homeland and country.
The Party and State's support policies for NCC have been effectively implemented by the commune, contributing to significantly improving the material and spiritual life of NCC. Mr. Le Quy Hai, a war invalid in An Tiem 1 village, said: I used to be a special forces soldier, fighting in the Quang Tri battlefield. In 1973, I was seriously injured in the right eye, and after months of treatment, I was discharged from the army and returned to my hometown. Previously, my family lived in a seriously degraded level 4 house. Thanks to the support of 100 million VND from the province's temporary and dilapidated house elimination project, in February 2025, I was able to build a new, spacious and solid house. I am very grateful for the attention of the Party, State and local authorities.
Mr. Phan Thanh Song, Head of An Tiem 1 Village, said: The village has 53 policy households, 100% of which have had their temporary and dilapidated houses removed. The payment of subsidies, visits, and gifts to policy households on holidays and Tet are all carried out fully and promptly. We actively mobilize people to join hands to care for and demonstrate a sense of responsibility towards local NCC.
Not only focusing on implementing well the prescribed policies and regimes, the commune also mobilizes social resources to take care of the elderly. The kind and compassionate hearts in the community have become a bright spot spreading the spirit of gratitude everywhere. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue, in Bui village, shared: My children and I always want to do something to express our gratitude and appreciation to the elderly. On the occasion of this year's War Invalids and Martyrs Day, my family spent our savings to prepare 62 gifts, each worth 600,000 VND, to give to the elderly. I hope this small gift will contribute to warming the hearts of the elderly.
Ms. Do Thi Phung, a former youth volunteer in Hong village, expressed her emotions when receiving gifts on the occasion of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27): The gifts from the commune government and kind-hearted people are a great source of spiritual encouragement for me.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Dam, Vice Chairman of Tay Thuy Anh Commune People's Committee: The commune has 46 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, 19 veteran revolutionary cadres, 39 resistance fighters imprisoned by the enemy, 442 martyrs, 354 wounded and sick soldiers, and 208 resistance fighters and their children infected with Agent Orange. These are numbers that show the great contributions of the people of Tay Thuy Anh commune in the resistance wars to protect the Fatherland. Demonstrating the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", along with organizing a memorial service at the martyrs' cemetery, offering incense to commemorate comrade Nguyen Duc Canh, in July, the commune organized visits and presented gifts to beneficiaries and policy families in the area, ensuring full and timely coverage according to regulations. In addition to resources from the state budget, the locality also actively mobilized socialization to expand the scope of care, creating a widespread spread in the community. In particular, political and social organizations also organized candle lighting ceremonies, cleaned martyrs' cemeteries, offered incense to commemorate martyrs, and propagated revolutionary traditions to the younger generation.
The specific and practical actions in Tay Thuy Anh commune not only show gratitude to the revolutionary NCC but also contribute to ensuring social security, building a strong solidarity bloc, creating a solid foundation for the locality to successfully carry out the task of socio -economic development in the new period.
