On the afternoon of July 16, through a direct exchange, Mr. Bui Nhu Thinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dinh Trang Thuong Commune, said: After receiving information related to the illegal stone mining incident that occurred in Hamlet 10 (former Tan Lam Commune, now Dinh Trang Thuong Commune), the leaders of the People's Committee of the commune were present to directly inspect the scene. The locality assigned the Commune Police to coordinate with relevant agencies to inspect, verify and clarify related violations for strict handling according to the provisions of the law. The viewpoint of the commune leaders is that any violations must be dealt with thoroughly.

According to Mr. Thinh, up to now, local authorities have drawn up a record of the incident scene and requested the violators to stop all stone mining activities here.
Authorities have identified Mr. Nguyen Van Thang (Hoa Ninh commune, Lam Dong province) as the violator related to the above-mentioned stone mining tunnel.

According to the incident report, at the time of inspection, there were more than 3,200 finished split stones at the scene. Mr. Thang admitted that he hired people to mine the stones from July 12 to 15. When working with the authorities, Mr. Thang could not present documents related to the stone mining activities licensed by the competent authorities.

At the time the authorities arrived to inspect, there was a dump truck at the scene taking rocks. When it discovered the authorities, it turned around and 6 people were mining (splitting rocks). About 200 meters from this quarry, there was also an inactive excavator. There were also many orphaned rocks at the scene (no specific statistics yet).

“Currently, the Commune Police and relevant agencies are focusing on clarifying the violations related to this stone quarry. After making specific statistics on the quantity of finished stone, area and other related violations, the Commune People's Committee will draw up a record of administrative violations for handling or transfer to competent authorities for handling according to the provisions of law,” informed Mr. Bui Nhu Thinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dinh Trang Thuong Commune.
Previously, Lam Dong Newspaper reported on the illegal stone mining in Dinh Trang Thuong commune through the article "Discovering another large-scale illegal stone mining tunnel".
