Bao Yen and Phuc Khanh communes receive 6 rescue boats to serve natural disaster prevention work

On the morning of July 12, the Lao Cai Provincial Red Cross Society coordinated with the People's Committees of Bao Yen and Phuc Khanh communes to receive 6 rescue boats to serve local disaster prevention and control work, provided by the United Nations Development Program in Vietnam (UNDP).

Previously, based on the proposal of the Provincial Red Cross Society, the People's Committees of Bao Yen and Phuc Khanh communes ( Lao Cai province), the United Nations Development Program in Vietnam (UNDP) decided to support 3 lifeboats for Bao Yen commune and 3 lifeboats for Phuc Khanh commune.

Within the framework of the Project “Restoring and enhancing agricultural livelihoods and housing in Lao Cai province after typhoon Yagi” approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment using non-refundable ODA capital from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Vietnam; the reception and handover of equipment, means and tools for natural disaster prevention took place in the communes of the Project area. The total value of the support package is nearly 477 million VND.

This is a very meaningful and necessary activity for disaster prevention in the upcoming flood season in the communes.
