This year's tournament marks the first time that taolu (performance) has been included in the official competition program alongside Sanshou.
The Vietnamese Wushu team registered 19 players for the tournament, including many expected faces in the taolu category such as Duong Thuy Vi, Dang Tran Phuong Nhi and Nong Van Huu.
However, the two gold medals of the Vietnamese Wushu team both came from the combat event.
Activision, athlete Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hien in the women's 56kg weight class and Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy in the women's 60kg weight class both won gold medals after their victories in the finals.
Ngoc Hien affirmed her position with a 2-0 victory over Chan Tsz Ching of Hong Kong (China) in the women's 56kg category, while Thu Thuy excellently defeated Zhang Xiaoyu of China with a score of 2-1 in the women's 60kg category.
With 2 gold medals, 8 silver medals and 2 bronze medals, the Vietnamese Wushu team ranked third overall after hosts China and Hong Kong (China).
From the results at the 2025 Asian Cup, the Vietnamese Wushu team will continue to aim for international missions in the coming time, including the 2025 World Games, the 2025 World Championship and the 33rd SEA Games.
