Food poisoning after death anniversary meal in Hue: Restaurant required to temporarily suspend operations

Hue Central Hospital, Branch 2, recorded 21 cases of hospitalization due to food poisoning after attending a death anniversary in Phong Dinh ward, Hue city.

On July 21, Mr. Tran Kiem Hao, Director of the Hue City Department of Health , said that the patients hospitalized for food poisoning after attending a funeral in Phong Dinh Ward (Hue City) on July 18 are basically in stable health.

By the morning of July 21, Hue Central Hospital, Branch 2, had recorded 21 cases of hospitalization due to food poisoning after eating the aforementioned death anniversary party.

Representatives of Hue City Department of Health collect information from patients.

According to Mr. Hao, the department has taken stool samples from the patients and sent them to the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang for testing to find the cause of the food poisoning. At the same time, the restaurant that cooked at the death anniversary party has been asked to temporarily suspend operations, pending the conclusion of the incident.

Authorities work to verify the cause of poisoning

The Department of Health requires units to develop plans, reserve chemicals, equipment, human resources and plans to be ready to coordinate in handling food poisoning or food-related diseases. When an incident occurs, it must be promptly handled and reported to local leaders and the Department of Health according to regulations.
