Bank capital flows boost local economies
Representative of the banking sector, Director of the State Bank of Vietnam Region 7 Tran The Hung said: The State Bank of Vietnam always pays attention, closely directs, and creates conditions to expand the network of credit institutions and commercial banks in Region 7 to better serve the credit and banking service needs of businesses in the area. As of the end of May 2025, outstanding loans in the entire Region 7 reached VND 594,798 billion, an increase of 7% compared to the end of 2024. Of which, Thanh Hoa province alone reached VND 237,767 billion, an increase of 7.03%. The capital has promptly met the capital needs of people and businesses to develop production and business. Along with that, credit programs and policies under the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister continue to be effectively implemented in Thanh Hoa province, such as the lending policy for agricultural and rural development with outstanding loans reaching VND 65,914 billion; Loans for small and medium enterprises reached 24,300 billion VND; loans to encourage the development of high-tech agriculture and clean agriculture according to Resolution No. 30/NQ-CP of the Government...
Vietcombank representative said: The bank is operating with 3 branches and 10 transaction offices in Thanh Hoa, serving more than 330,000 customers with a staff of more than 300 employees. Up to now, Vietcombank's total outstanding loans in the locality have reached nearly 21,500 billion VND, accounting for 1.4% of the entire system, while capital mobilization has reached 16,600 billion VND, equivalent to 1% of the system.
Recognizing the strong growth potential of the locality, Vietcombank aims to increase credit growth at Thanh Hoa branches to 18% in 2025. This figure clearly reflects the bank's commitment and expectation in accompanying the local economic development.
To achieve the above goal, Vietcombank has introduced a series of key solutions.
Firstly, the bank continues to prioritize credit in the fields of production and business, energy, infrastructure and growth sectors according to the Government's policy. Through that, Vietcombank wishes to promote its strengths to accompany businesses, especially local businesses.
Second, responding to the direction of the State Bank, Vietcombank actively implemented social housing loan packages and home loans for young people under 35 years old. The bank aims to accompany the province in real estate projects in line with the social security orientation.
Third, banks promote the development of digital services and reform procedures to save costs and time for customers, especially those living far from transaction offices.
Fourth, Vietcombank focuses on developing green and sustainable finance. In 2025, the bank will deploy green credit products, mobilize green bonds and connect payments for the Children's Hospital and Thanh Hoa General Hospital.

Committed to the community, towards social security
In addition to credit activities, Vietcombank has recently actively participated in social security programs in the province. From 2024 to now, the total value of funding for the fields of education, health and support for the disadvantaged has reached nearly 300 billion VND. Of which, 199 billion in 2024 alone and a commitment of about 96 billion VND in 2025.
Specifically, the bank has sponsored the construction of schools, purchased learning equipment, built medical stations, provided medical equipment, and especially supported the elimination of temporary houses, the construction of gratitude houses, and solidarity houses. These are practical contributions, demonstrating the spirit of social responsibility of a leading commercial bank.
At this conference, Vietcombank continued to demonstrate its pioneering role by announcing a 15 billion VND sponsorship package for the housing construction program for poor households in Thanh Hoa. This sponsorship package is part of the movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses", aiming to improve the quality of life for people in difficult circumstances.
Vietcombank's social security activities have demonstrated a positive response to the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister on ensuring social security with the spirit of "leaving no one behind".
With that effort, Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to Vietcombank and Vietcombank Thanh Hoa Branch for their positive contributions to the emulation movement and social security work in the area.
