Vietnam wishes to make efforts to contribute and enhance the voice and role of developing countries.

On June 14, 2025, in response to a reporter's question about Brazil's announcement that Vietnam has officially become a partner country of the BRICS group, Spokesperson of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang emphasized:

In the spirit of proactively and actively integrating comprehensively, deeply and effectively into the international community, Vietnam has been and will make practical contributions to multilateral mechanisms, organizations and forums, thereby contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world .
        
Along with active participation in multilateral mechanisms such as the United Nations, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC), the Group of Seven (G7), the Group of Twenty (G20), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), etc., Vietnam has become a Partner Country of the BRICS Group of Emerging Economies with the desire to make efforts to contribute, enhance the voice and role of developing countries, promote international solidarity, inclusive and comprehensive multilateralism in the spirit of respecting international law.

This also affirms Vietnam's consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification of foreign relations, being a friend, a reliable partner and an active, responsible member of the international community.
