Not attracting massive investment

Pressure from the socio-economic development process in Tay Ninh province increases pressure on the environment, causing water and air pollution, increasing solid waste, negatively affecting public health, etc. The problem of water pollution, solid waste management, etc. is posing many challenges to the locality.

In addition, groundwater, soil, etc. are also under a lot of pressure. In addition, climate change and increasingly complex natural disasters also cause many consequences for the environment.

In economic development, Tay Ninh does not attract investment massively, giving priority to investors using green, clean, friendly technology with little impact on the environment to ensure rapid and sustainable development.

The province directed units to strengthen coordination, improve state management in environmental protection, and minimize pollution and environmental impacts.

According to Mr. Duong Van Nam, representative of Thuan Dao Industrial Park Management Board (Ben Luc commune), when coming into operation, the unit always strictly complies with environmental laws, giving priority to receiving secondary units with green, clean, and advanced technology.

In addition, Thuan Dao Industrial Park also regularly propagates and disseminates regulations so that secondary enterprises can grasp and be proactive in building a green environment and actively transform to meet development requirements.

Similarly, representative of Anh Hong Industrial Park (Duc Lap commune) - Le Anh Hong shared: Regarding green development, PGI is always focused on by enterprises, coordinated to implement through specific activities: Prioritizing attracting units with environmentally friendly technology, building a standard wastewater treatment system, enhancing the role of enterprises for the community in green development.

During the development process, Anh Hong Industrial Park proactively coordinates with local authorities in implementation and aims for sustainable development of the province.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment - Nguyen Tan Thuan, based on the results achieved in previous years, to deploy and implement tasks and solutions to improve and enhance PGI, the Provincial People's Committee issued many plans. Departments, branches and localities deploy and implement synchronous solutions to improve component indicators of PGI through promoting propaganda to raise public awareness of environmental protection, respond to the negative impacts of climate change, and at the same time apply scientific and technological advances in improving the effectiveness of environmental management; strengthen the fight against environmental crimes, promptly detect and handle violations of environmental protection, towards the goal of green growth and sustainable development.

The province has received attention and support from international organizations and foreign partners to invest in developing technical infrastructure in implementing and carrying out environmental protection tasks, etc. Thanks to that, PGI in 2024 rose to 6th place in the national PGI rankings, up 6 places compared to 2023 and up 22 places compared to 2022.

For green, sustainable development

Mr. Nguyen Tan Thuan said: In recent times, all levels, sectors, people and enterprises in the province have realized the significance and importance of applying modern solutions and technologies to treat industrial solid waste and wastewater in production and business activities, limiting emissions into the environment. However, there are still some limitations: 3 industrial clusters have come into operation but have not completed the centralized wastewater treatment system.

Attracting investors to invest in solid waste treatment plants in the province is still slow, not ensuring the ability to self-treat solid waste, and still having to rely on Ho Chi Minh City to handle it.

There has not been a specific roadmap and guidance issued for enterprises in the production, business and service sectors that are at risk of causing environmental pollution to apply the best available techniques for at least one activity or production stage earlier than the prescribed roadmap to enjoy incentives and support according to regulations;...

To contribute to implementing solutions to improve and enhance PGI, towards green, harmonious and sustainable development, the Department of Agriculture and Environment proposes a number of key solutions.

The province continues to thoroughly grasp, propagate and raise awareness of green growth and development towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions towards the goal of net zero emissions by 2050. The locality thoroughly handles pollution "black spots", improves environmental quality; speeds up the completion of centralized wastewater treatment systems in 3 industrial clusters; encourages operating enterprises to have a roadmap for transformation and application of modern technology to reduce emissions; limits the acceptance of investment projects in industries that pose a risk of causing environmental pollution, and prioritizes the acceptance of industries that limit emissions and are environmentally friendly.

In addition, the province focuses on the management and treatment of domestic solid waste and urban wastewater; enhancing the capacity to collect and treat domestic solid waste generated in the province, contributing to environmental protection. Investigating and surveying the current status of production technology, having a suitable roadmap to convert or replace outdated technology that emits a lot of greenhouse gases with environmentally friendly technology./.
