On August 19, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) announced the plan for the Vietnam National Women's Volleyball Team to participate in the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship, scheduled to take place from August 22 to September 7, 2025 in Thailand.
This is the first time the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has participated in the most prestigious tournament on the planet. According to the plan, tomorrow, August 20, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his students will leave for Phuket, Thailand. Through the tournament, the athletes will have the opportunity to approach and compete with major volleyball teams, thereby accumulating experience and developing their skills in preparation for the biggest goal of the year, the 33rd SEA Games.

The Vietnamese women's volleyball team is in Group G with Poland (ranked 3rd in the world), Germany (ranked 11th in the world) and Kenya (ranked 22nd in the world). According to the schedule, Vietnam will open the tournament with Poland (August 23), then meet Germany (August 25) and Kenya (August 27).
Participating in this tournament, Vietnam will have all the important players such as Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Lam Oanh, Bich Thuy. The most regrettable absence is Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen. VFV said that due to personal reasons, Bich Tuyen wished not to participate in this competition. "The coaching board respects the athlete's decision. We affirm that Bich Tuyen is always an important member and always welcome her return to contribute to the national team in the future when she is ready" - VFV's announcement said.
