To Cat Ba following the trail of the Golden-headed Langur

Cat Ba langur, also known as golden-headed langur, is a primate endemic to Vietnam, living only on Cat Ba archipelago - Hai Phong city.

This langur species has shiny golden fur, a jet-black face and a long, graceful tail. However, the Cat Ba langur is facing a high risk of extinction with only about 70 individuals remaining.

They are listed in the Vietnam Red Book and the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN).

With the desire to preserve the image of this rare langur species, photographer Vu Lam spent many years following the Cat Ba langur, although this was an arduous and challenging journey.

To get beautiful photos, he had to wake up early in the morning and travel by boat to the langur's habitat.

Due to the wild nature of the langurs, they often stay in caves facing the sea, and often leave the cave very early, so taking pictures of them is extremely difficult when standing on a small boat, with the water swaying and the sky getting dark.

After 2 years of perseverance, Vu Lam has recorded almost all the moments of the Cat Ba langur.

His photos not only have artistic value but also contribute to raising public awareness about protecting this rare langur species.
