Athlete Huyen Trang: "My whole family is very excited to participate in the Dan Tri pickleball tournament"

(Dan Tri) - Athlete Tran Huyen Trang is one of the players who will participate in the Open women's doubles event at the pickleball tournament "Dan Tri 20 years - Bright new days" taking place on July 5 and 6 in Hanoi.

Despite the fact that it was almost noon and the weather was hot in Hanoi 's summer, Ms. Tran Huyen Trang (born in 1985, lecturer at Bac Ninh University of Sports) was still actively practicing on the pickleball court when there was only more than half a month left until the pickleball tournament "Dan Tri 20 years - Bright new day".

Each athlete who registers to participate in the "Dan Tri 20 Years - Bright New Day" pickleball tournament is contributing to the project of building charitable houses, spreading the spirit of charity, humanity, and humanism.

In the two categories Dan Tri Lead and Dan Tri Friends, many famous artists such as Viet Anh, Pham Quynh Nga, Anh Vu, MC Bach Lan Huong and reporters from newspapers and radio stations across the country participated in the competition.

Surely you are eagerly waiting for the pickleball tournament "Dan Tri 20 years - Bright new day" when practicing so hard?

- That's right. Even when I don't participate in tournaments, I still play regularly because I'm so addicted to pickleball. But the pickleball tournament of Dan Tri newspaper - a newspaper I love very much - makes me practice harder, because if I can stand on the podium in this tournament, it will be a great joy for me.

Unfortunately, there is no mixed doubles event in this tournament, so I only play the Open women's doubles event. This is an event that gathers many strong opponents, so I have to practice hard and try to achieve the best performance when entering the tournament.

I feel excited about the tournament because Dan Tri is a big press agency, very trusted by readers and this tournament is held on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Dan Tri electronic newspaper, so it is even more meaningful. The communication work for this event was done by Dan Tri very professionally and methodically.

Pickleball is a fairly new sport in Vietnam, but how did you reach a certain level to compete in the Open women's doubles?

- I am a tennis player by trade, and have played well on the tennis court, so switching to pickleball was not difficult. Many tennis techniques can be applied very effectively in pickleball, especially the backhand stroke. Not only playing, I am now also a coach and teaching beginners.

Pickleball is an easy sport to play, but many people confuse playing easily with playing well. Any sport requires good technique, dexterity and good reflexes thanks to effort and perseverance in practice.

What do you find most interesting about the "Dan Tri 20 years - Bright new day" pickleball tournament?

- I have participated in many pickleball tournaments, but I find the interesting difference in the tournament organized by Dan Tri newspaper is that there are many contents for amateur athletes to participate in, especially the competition contents for low-level players, even those who are new to pickleball can still participate happily and comfortably.

Tournaments must be organized for amateur athletes like this so that this sport can develop more strongly. Besides, the tournament also has contents for professional athletes to compete, ensuring the factor of professional quality.

True to the spirit of Dan Tri when organizing the tournament, the tournament is an opportunity for Dan Tri readers to meet, share and spread the spirit of positive living and love.

In particular, this is the first tournament where I have seen the Organizing Committee commit to using all the fees collected from athletes to support the construction of charity houses for people in difficult circumstances in Cao Bang province.

Obviously the goal of the tournament is very meaningful and humane, so we are very excited to participate in the tournament because we can both compete and contribute a small part to the meaningful goal of Dan Tri newspaper. And if I am lucky enough to win the prize, I pledge to use half of my prize money after sharing it with my teammates to support the charity house building program.

Not only I participated in the tournament, but also all 4 members of my family including me, my husband and two children, because this is an opportunity to spread love to everyone.

I also wish to join Dan Tri newspaper in attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of those charity houses, to witness with my own eyes the achievements of the newspaper as well as of everyone joining hands to contribute.
