Since the beginning of the year, people in Van Yen district have newly planted over 2,500 hectares, bringing the total cinnamon area in the area to over 55,000 hectares, of which the cinnamon area is concentrated over 30,000 hectares.
Cinnamon is grown mainly in the communes of Phong Du Thuong, Phong Du Ha, Xuan Tam, Chau Que Ha, Tan Hop, Dai Son, Vien Son and Mo Vang.
In order to increase the output and value of cinnamon products, in recent times, the district has focused on applying scientific and technical advances in planting, care, exploitation and processing. Therefore, currently, the district continues to maintain over 10,000 hectares of cinnamon that have been certified as organic cinnamon.
In the coming time, besides promoting propaganda, advertising, and inviting domestic and foreign investors to the district to invest in deep processing, Van Yen will combine cinnamon development with preserving, maintaining and promoting traditional and unique cultural features of ethnic minorities, at the same time, paying attention to preserving cinnamon areas concentrated in communes to serve as a source of seeds for annual cinnamon planting in the area.
