The role of scientific and technological information in socio-economic development

Experts participated in the discussion at the workshop.

This is the first in-depth workshop in this field, focusing on raising awareness of the role of scientific and technological information in Vietnam's socio-economic development.

At the same time, contribute to policy development and propose specific solutions to improve the effectiveness of application and management of scientific and technological information.

Speaking at the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Huynh Thanh Dat, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, emphasized that the event has special significance in the context that the entire Party and people are implementing major resolutions of the country.

Scientific and technological information is the flow of knowledge that nourishes society and is also an essential resource for innovation.

This workshop is topical and has strategic significance, linked to the country's development goals, industrialization and modernization, in line with the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

This is also an opportunity to analyze development trends and propose appropriate mechanisms and policies to effectively exploit scientific and technological information resources to serve national development.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Hai Quan, Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University, scientific and technological information is the source of nutrients that "nourish" scientists, like "life sap" nourishes plants.

Through that, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Hai Quan hopes that scientists will share many practical solutions and recommendations, helping scientific and technological information sources become more profound and more applicable.

Through the discussion sessions, experts and scientists focused on clarifying the role of scientific and technological information in socio-economic development; managing and exploiting information resources to improve research capacity and international publication at Ho Chi Minh City National University; building a scientific and technological information ecosystem to serve innovation and digital economic development in Vietnam.

In addition, experts and business representatives also shared about the application of scientific and technological information in the digital transformation process.

At the same time, it is necessary to promote the application of information, artificial intelligence, virtual reality... not only within the specialized field but also to expand to many other fields to spread the value of scientific and technological information to social life...
