Great agricultural potential
Da Teh 2 commune has relatively favorable natural conditions, with great potential for developing crops such as rice, rubber, mulberry, coffee, fruit trees of all kinds, especially durian trees with high economic value.
According to the results of the review in the field of cultivation, the current area of food crops in the whole commune reached 2,644 hectares; of which, food crops (rice, corn) reached 1,923 hectares, other annual crops (potatoes, cassava, vegetables and beans of all kinds) reached 721 hectares. The area of perennial crops reached 5,765 hectares; of which, fruit trees of all kinds reached 1,754 hectares, other perennial crops (mulberry, rubber, pepper, cashew, coffee...) reached 4,011 hectares.
Mr. Phung Minh Duc - Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Teh 2 commune said that in recent years, the work of converting inefficient crops to high-value crops such as mulberry and various fruit trees in the commune has been carried out quite effectively. Along with that, the application of science and technology to agricultural production according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP and organic agriculture processes for crops has been focused on by the locality.
To keep pace, from traditional production methods, local farmers have boldly switched to concentrated, large-scale production, introducing high-value crop varieties into production.
Applying technology to production
Currently, in the commune, there are more and more models applying automatic water-saving irrigation systems and high-pressure sprayers that have been effectively promoted. In particular, in the old Trieu Hai commune, there are households that have pioneered the investment in spraying aircraft to serve their families and the surrounding community. This is also a strong change in farmers' awareness of applying scientific and technical advances in production to save labor costs and increase farmers' income.
According to the commune leaders, in the period of 2025 - 2030, the locality will continue to promote propaganda and mobilize farmers to focus on investing and applying scientific and technical advances in production. In addition to village meetings and association activities, the locality will propagate through channels such as loudspeakers, village group zalo, social network facebook... for people to apply. At the same time, Da Teh 2 commune will implement planning of growing areas for key crops, especially durian, applying production according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP, organic processes... to improve the quality of agricultural products for export.
Along with maintaining and improving the quality of recognized growing area codes, localities develop additional growing area codes when meeting the requirements according to regulations. At the same time, build new value chains for key local crops. In addition, improve the operational efficiency of production and collective economic organizations such as agricultural production cooperatives. Timely consolidate ineffective cooperatives. Promote the establishment of new cooperatives when meeting the requirements according to regulations.
Along with the application of science and technology in production, in the coming time, the locality will also promote mechanization and automation in production. Mechanization and automation are applied from the care to harvesting stages such as: applying automatic irrigation technology, analyzing soil properties in each production area...
To protect the environment, the locality focuses on mobilizing farmers to actively respond to the collection of used pesticide packaging into tanks according to regulations. At the same time, coordinate with the regional Agricultural Extension Station to organize specialized training courses suitable for each crop season and each type of crop. In particular, the locality will increase regular and surprise inspections. Thereby, controlling the quality of fertilizers and pesticides used in agricultural production... strictly handling violations.
