The group stage of the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's U19 Championship has officially ended after 3 matches, with the two teams U19 women of Vietnam and U19 women of Thailand both winning 9 points to lead groups A and B. This result means that the two championship candidates can only face each other if they both advance to the final.
In the final match of Group A, U19 Vietnam showed their superior strength when they defeated U19 Laos 8-0, while U19 Myanmar defeated Timor Leste 7-0. With 3 wins, an impressive goal difference of 16 goals and no goals conceded, host Vietnam excellently topped Group A. U19 Myanmar ranked second with 6 points, winning the remaining ticket to the semi-finals.

In Group B, U19 Thailand affirmed their position when they defeated Cambodia 3-0 to maintain the top position. Meanwhile, U19 Malaysia's unfortunate stumble when they lost 0-4 to Indonesia caused them to drop to third place with 3 points. On the contrary, Indonesia rose to second place with 4 points and got a ticket to continue.
The semi-finals determine the 4 participating teams and the matches are U19 Vietnam vs. U19 Indonesia, U19 Thailand vs. U19 Myanmar.
The semi-finals will take place at Thong Nhat Stadium on June 16, with the home match kicking off at 6:30 p.m.
In this tournament, U19 Thailand is the defending champion. U19 Vietnam has finished second for 3 consecutive times against opponents such as U19 Thailand and U19 Australia.
With home field advantage this season, coach Okiyama Masahiko's students are expected to "break the curse" of retaining the championship at home.
