Vietnam player scores against Thailand, renews contract with Hanoi FC

Hanoi FC proactively negotiated a contract extension with Nguyen Hai Long. The agreement to extend the contract until 2029 is considered a reward for the midfielder born in 2000 after his contributions to the Vietnam national team's journey to win the AFF Cup 2024 as well as his good performance in the capital team.

Hai Long makes important contributions to the Vietnamese team at the AFF Cup 2024.

"The team's Board of Directors believes that Nguyen Hai Long will continue to fly high in the capital team and the national team," said Hanoi FC CEO Nguyen Quoc Tuan.

Hai Long joined Hanoi FC in 2021, after leaving Quang Ninh Club. At that time, he was one of the leading young players in Vietnamese football. The midfielder born in 2000 spent a long time competing to assert his position in the capital team's shirt. Up to now, Hai Long has played 78 times, scoring 13 goals for Hanoi FC.

2024 marks an important milestone for Hai Long when he first plays for the Vietnam national team, participating in the AFF Cup. Under coach Kim Sang-sik, this midfielder is highly regarded in the attacking midfield position.

The first and last goals of the Vietnamese team at the AFF Cup 2024 were both scored by Nguyen Hai Long. In particular, the goal in the last minute of the final match against Thailand at Rajamangala Stadium (Bangkok) brought many emotions to the fans.
