Tuchel apologizes to Jude Bellingham

England manager has publicly apologised to Jude Bellingham after using controversial language about the Real Madrid midfielder's behaviour.

Coach Thomas Tuchel proactively contacted midfielder Jude Bellingham.

Speaking to Sky Sports , Coach Tuchel admitted that he would speak privately with Bellingham: "I used the word 'disgusting' to talk about Jude unintentionally. I want to make it clear that I did not intend to send any message or hidden meaning."

In June, Tuchel revealed the differences between him and his mother over Jude Bellingham's on-field behaviour: "A lot of Jude's behaviour can be very controversial. I see this in my family, especially my mother. Sometimes you see Bellingham angry, and it makes my mother feel disgusted by some of his on-field behaviour."

Tuchel’s comments about Bellingham at that time caused great controversy, causing many fans to criticize the England midfielder. The German coach emphasized his responsibility for causing a wave of negativity about his student in the media: “I apologize. I fully understand that I created these things. I apologize for those statements.”

Bellingham is in the Three Lions squad to face Andorra and Serbia in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers next month. England currently top Group K of the European qualifiers with three wins from three matches against Albania, Latvia and Andorra.
