This is one of the key activities of "E-commerce Week - Connecting the Da Nang Region 2025", aiming to support local businesses to increase brand awareness, reach new customers and take advantage of digital platforms for sustainable development.
At the event "E-commerce Week - Connecting Da Nang Region 2025" organized by iDEA - Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) in coordination with the Department of Industry and Trade - Da Nang City People's Committee, Shopee coordinated to deploy a livestream model to promote OCOP products right in the province. This activity marks a new step in bringing local specialties closer to consumers in the digital environment.
Promoting livestream skills training and e-commerce application for Vietnamese enterprises
Within the framework of the program, Shopee has implemented a livestream activity to introduce typical OCOP products of Da Nang city, and organized training on e-commerce application skills for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The training sessions focused on optimizing online stores, improving livestream sales skills and using digital marketing tools to expand customer base.
The program aims to support businesses, business households and small traders at traditional markets in Da Nang as well as many localities across the country. The event also contributes to promoting regional linkages in e-commerce, creating momentum to promote the sustainable development of Vietnam's digital economic market.
SMEs in Da Nang participate in a training session on e-commerce application skills jointly organized by Shopee and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Shopee joins hands to spread OCOP products through local livestream model
The highlight of "E-commerce Week - Connecting the Da Nang Region 2025" is a series of three livestream sessions taking place throughout August 1 on Shopee Live, led by Shopee's livestream host team. Different from the studio broadcast format, this time viewers get to experience the real fair atmosphere when the hosts directly visit booths, chat with business representatives and introduce products on the spot.
The livestream session was broadcast live at the fair, introducing OCOP specialties to hundreds of thousands of viewers on Shopee Live.
A total of 13 OCOP businesses were introduced in three live sessions, including many units joining the e-commerce race for the first time. Brands recorded a 26-fold increase in store visits compared to normal days. Many users after watching the livestream proactively learned more about the shop's other products, showing the popularity of this form.
Not only does it help raise awareness, this activity also brings revenue to many new sellers. Typically, the brands Ga xanh Giang Nguyen, Dong y Hoang Anh Duong or Banh it la gai Hoang Dong have only joined Shopee for a short time and have not recorded any orders in the past month, but have sold their first products thanks to this livestream activity.
According to data from Shopee, more than 7 hours of livestreaming on August 1 attracted more than 600,000 views on Shopee Live.
Shopee and ShopeePay e-wallet also sponsor thousands of shopping vouchers exclusively for livestream viewers. Consumers not only interact directly with sellers to better understand the products, but also have the opportunity to own OCOP specialties at preferential prices during the program.
Many businesses selling on Shopee for the first time recorded orders on the day of the livestream.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, 27 years old, living in Hanoi, shared: "I feel very excited because I can interact with the seller right away, ask questions and receive answers right away. Even though I watch from a distance, I can still clearly feel the vibrant atmosphere as if I were there. I hope Shopee will organize more programs like this so that viewers in other provinces can also experience and understand more about the products."
Committed to supporting Vietnamese businesses to develop sustainably on digital platforms
Mr. Phan Manh Ha, Director of External Relations of Shopee Vietnam, shared: "Cooperating with iDEA to deploy a livestream model to promote OCOP products locally is one of the activities that affirms Shopee's commitment to supporting businesses to bring 'made in Vietnam' products closer to consumers and promote the local digital economy."
Over the years, Shopee has proactively implemented many initiatives to support the domestic seller community and brands, including the e-commerce skills training program "Shopee Supports Vietnamese Businesses", the livestream series "Tinh Hoa Viet Chung Suc" or activities to promote domestic exports through the Global Sales Platform (SIP).
Shopee's initiatives aim to support Vietnamese businesses in promoting digital transformation and sustainable economic development.
This event taking place in Da Nang is not only an opportunity to connect supply and demand between OCOP businesses and consumers in the digital environment, but also demonstrates the role of e-commerce platforms in promoting the value of regional specialties.
